Sorry zowee -
I'm not sure how but I missed your post.
Kitty mentioned the Good Rx idea, which I think is good. This is for the regular pills that have Nystatin in them. Not a bad price.
But if your yeast/fungal issues already exist (in other words, you're interested treatment not just prevention) you night be better off with the pure powder Nystatin. More info about
the powder and why it can sometimes be better in that "New to Lyme?" thread:
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=1606610&g=3644275#m3644275It is not always easy to get an MD or ND to prescribed the powder... but worth a try. You have a couple of options - you can take the pills but the drawbacks are that they are also not cheap, you often need to take more pills than prescribed to get to the optimal dose, which means you run out early. There are "ways" around this but not long-term.
If you can get an Rx you can fill it at a compounding pharmacist. There are some online if you don't have any near you.
Another option is to buy the powder outright w/out insurance coverage from a foreign pharmacy and I have a couple of sources if you're interested - you can email me. They sell the powder for appx $85 in a little jar that is about
4-6 wks worth, depending on your dose (they can't break it into smaller units to sell you because this is how it comes from the mfr and it has a 6 month shelf life).
Hope this is helpful - if not, please keep asking questions!
