Should I test my toddler for Lyme?

Hi, all. I am wondering if I should test my 3 yr old for Lyme. I was bitten by a tick when he was 6 months, continued to breast feed until he was 2, and didn't get diagnosed with Lyme until he was 3. If had known I had Lyme, and that it could be transmitted through breast milk, I would have bottle fed for his safety. But now I'm worried he may have Lyme, and I'm not sure if I should test him or not.

Is he displaying lyme symptoms?

And do not beat yourself up! We can't undo what is done. We can do the best we can to deal with it.

How well does your child do with blood draws? I just think there are so many variables to consider. The testing is unreliable and what if you get a negative??? Will that alleviate your fears knowing that it is an unreliable test?

See, so many variables. I can't walk in your shoes but I can support whatever your heart tells you to do. Mommas have intuition for a good reason. I am a praying woman, so I pray on these things and then go with my gut instincts.

I would get him tested - it's the easiest way to see if he too has these infections. If it comes back negative, then you can trial him on some herbals if you wish to see if there is any symptom improvements.

The one thing I think we an all agree on is that we need to be aware of our little ones being exposed as well. I'm so glad you thought about this!!

Thank you both for your input. He doesn't have any symptoms, but I'd like to be ahead of the game. I'm not sure what I'll do. I think I'll discuss it with my LLMD.
