I have been eating very good for past 2 weeks and currently on a break from antibiotics. However my symptoms are getting worse the more and more I restrict my diet of carbs and sugar. I went through this before and had to give up because things got really bad. Within days of returning to a normal diet things get better. I can function on sugar and carbs but can't off. Any ideas.
Hi Starlight* -
Can you describe what you mean by "getting worse" and "really bad"? Would help quite a bit - those descript
ions could mean anything.
Also - did you have a poor or healthy diet before you started the restrictions? Were you eating a lot of processed foods? or a lot of one kind of food? A lot of sugar or carbs? did you eat a lot of fruits or drink a lot of juice?
In case you're talking about
yeast die off type symptoms:
If you're describing signs of yeast/fungal die off, that would be pretty common symptoms and it would be something you just need to work through - they are pretty unpleasant but can be minimized through proper detox, particularly with a GI binder. People often have yeast overgrowth without even noticing it and experience die off symptoms.
Even on a yeast/fungal overgrowth diet, you still need good carbs so it could also be that you aren't eating enough good carbs (veggies, veggies, veggies, brown rice, sweet potato, butternut squash, lentils, quinoa, etc.) The bad carbs are the white stuff (white rice, potatoes, white flours/breads/pasta and of course, sugar). Your brain needs sugar but just in the right form. Unless you are battling yeast/fungal overgrowth, you don't need to eliminate all forms of sugar - for some people fruits are still good for the diet.
