Skin rash after shower?

Has anybody else ever experienced this or know what it could be from?

The last few months, it never fails, everytime I get out of the shower I have a rash (red, raised, dry, itchy patches/bumps) on both of my upper arms.

It fades after a while of being out of the shower, but reappears anytime I take a shower.

I know it's nothing I'm using (not a reaction to any soaps or anything). It happens with any body wash, WITHOUT body wash, it's not related to anything I'm using.

This never happened before I was sick.

Any thoughts?

Could be a heat rash...

Treatment is antihistamines. Try Nettle Leaf & Vitamin C. Both are natural antihistamines (no negative side-effects), and Nettle Leaf can help reduce joint pain, cleanse the blood and prevent Lyme-related joint pain (per S. H. Buhner).

Vitamin C is antiviral, supports the immune system, is an anti-inflammatory, and is needed for healthy connective tissue.

Try taking a tepid water shower and see if it happens. It could be the water temperature. Are you on well water or city water?

I have the same problem. It's mild aquagenic urticaria caused by Lyme. I take short, cooler showers and it helps a little.

I would also say that it could likely be a part of Lyme for you and that a cooler temperature of water could be the key to stopping this reaction. It should go away as you heal.

It's not really about rashes but maybe your rash is related to some of this weird stuff.

I get a bit reddish and rashy on my front below and inbetween the 'girls'. and it's most often after my bath or shower. At first I thought it was the epsom salt, but I noticed it after the shower, as well. It's there even when I stop the abx....and it seems to be worse when my symptoms flare. I think it's a lyme rash.

I had an all over body rash that I assumed was some sort of hives although it didn't itch. I wonder if that was when I was infected with lyme??

I also get the rash from the shower. It seems to be the hot water. I've only had this happen since the all over body rash from a couple years ago.

I have had this exact rash many times, and it is especially bad right now. Mine gets worse after showers too. I have been attending the Chronic Lyme Summit #2 this past week, and several docs talked about how parasites (worms) carry HEAVY METALS inside them, so when they are killed (and often they can be killed from whatever Lyme treatment you're doing), they release these metals into the body. Heavy metals such as mercury and lead cause rashes. Besides from the parasites, we can become extra toxic with these metals when we have Lyme. If anyone has any other ideas, however, i'd be open to hear other opinions!
