Hi Dmonica!
Welcome to our community! I'm glad you found us.
If you haven't yet, please do read through our "new to Lyme' thread as it's packed with important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. And, here's another good place to find helpful detoxing routines:

Detoxing is quite important while in treatment for these infections, because as the bacteria dies, it releases toxins and those toxins increase our symptoms. This increase in symptoms during the time the bacteria is dying is known as herxing, and it can get pretty intense for some of us.
Detoxing may also help ease the arthritic feelings you are having. And yes, it's a fairly common symptom of Lyme and company.
The rash is just another symptom. It shows that the bacteria are in the skin, and they can come and go through out treatments, so just keep track of any symptoms, including the skin rash(s).
You need to stay in treatment until all symptoms resolve, even if the 28 days isn't enough treatment. You may need to find an ILADS trained LLMD in order to continue treatments - if so, we should be able to help with that.
But, it's very important that you get the proper treatment - 400 - 600 mgs of Doxy a day for a minimum of 4 - 6 weeks - or longer if symptoms don't resolve
before treatment ends.
