For the past month, I've been having some very strange symptoms in my left arm. These symptoms are actually what brought me to a new family doctor, who was intuitive enough to test me for Lyme. But here we are 4 weeks later and I'm still having symptoms in my arm with no answers. I am wondering if anyone here has experienced anything similar:
Sorry it's so long...there have been many changes throughout the arm.
-Pain started in my armpit and felt like an ingrown hair (wasn't an ingrown hair though).
-Over the following few days, the pain started going down my arm to elbow. It felt as if there was a tight band between my armpit and elbow (it felt like it was pulling/stretching).
-about
a week after the pain started, I noticed small red spots under the skin on the inside of my elbow. I think they're called Petechiae? These red spots gradually multiplied, got darker, and started clustering...the final product resembled a reddish bruise about
the size of a half dollar (maybe bigger).
-Same day I noticed the red spots, I started noticing a few small bumps/lumps in my forearm. The pain started moving further down my arm, eventually making it to my hands/fingers.
-about
10 days after the pain started, I noticed two thick cord like things under the skin coming up from the armpit and extending part way into my arm. These have since gotten much better and seem to be shrinking.
-Pain started getting better, but was and has been moving around my arm since it started. It seems like every day or every couple of days there's a new spot with a bump or pain (it can go from my bicep to my wrist to my elbow, etc...).
-A month after the pain started (yesterday), I started getting more of those reddish under-the-skin cluster spots again (the original one went away and I hadn't had any since). I currently have one on the outside of my elbow and forearm near my wrist.
I'm at a loss. I've been to FIVE doctors and not one can tell me what's going on. I've had an ultrasound of my arm/armpit, deep vein doppler ultrasound, blood clotting blood test, mammogram/ultrasound, an x-ray, routine bloodwork--all were normal. The orthopedic doctor said there was nothing musculoskeletal going on, although he did an x-ray which wouldn't show soft tissue.
Coincidentally, my overall symptoms got significantly worse when my arm was at its worst. I had never felt worse overall. I am feeling better now, but my arm is still acting very strange.
I have about
3 weeks until my appointment with the LLMD and am looking forward to it even more!
