Is it possible to have no co infections?

Bitten 20 years ago and just started getting sick.My test western blot showed band 23 igm reactive along with 41 igg and 66 igg.The co infection test shows negative for babs.I wanted to know if it's possible to have just lyme?

I guess it's possible - but not likely.

What makes you think it's only Lyme?

You could still have Babesia with a negative test result - and also maybe Bartonella.

Oh because on my test results it said babs was negitive.

Have you been tested for co-infections other than Babesia?

Hi Cmoor,
Unfortunately Lyme rarely travels alone in ticks. I hope you don't have other infections, but I tested negative for Bartonella and babesia and Lyme.

I have all of them and maybe more.

My Lyme Literate doctor clinically diagnosed me and treats according to my symptoms.

Make sure to keep a journal of your daily symptoms so you can review them with a llmd.

You absolutely don't want to miss treating these infections if you have them.

Did you know that the medical community has only identified 2% of the bacteria in the world? Yep that's right 2%. If you think testing is accurate I have a bridge to sell you ;o)

There's so much we don't know about bacteria in fact there are plausible theories overseas with supporting evidence that there's no such thing as cancer cells or disease carrying viruses, in fact all the diseases in the world are caused by bacteria/parasites.

I didn't get tested for Bart I don't think.I guess I have to just hope I find a llmd near me.

I used to think the same thing bc I tested neg for babs & bart. Later showed a positive for rocky mountain spotted fever and recently a positive bart test. So I agree, doubtful. There's other co's to test for like ehrlichia, anaplasma, etc.

Cmoor don't worry you will find someone and figure all of this out. You can get a head start on healing by detoxing, eating healthy and building your immune system while to search for an llmd.

After much study, I have come to the conclusion that when someone suffers from Lyme, it is always more than one pathogen. And those pathogens aren't always Bartonella or Babesia. I would guess they were involved in only 1/3 to 1/2 of all patients that are really ill. IMO, the pathogens that cause the most problems are our normal GI bacteria. In the GI tract, bacteria do things like fix nitrites, ferment carbohydrates, and lypolize lipids. These functions are vital to our survival. But if these processes occur outside of our GI tract, we have serious issues. IMO, part of Borrelia's virulence comes from its ability to create a translocation of bacteria or what many call a "Leaky Gut." When the GI bacteria leave the gut and colonize elsewhere in the body, they become pathogens. The immune response knows this and begins their assault. If the immune response is fighting Bilophila or Lactobacillus, it is limiting its resources to fight Borrelia. What an ingenious method of survival. Water down our immune response by making it fight everything else. Borrelia just sits back and morphs its way into prolonged existence.

Our GI bacteria are just like Borrelia, they just want to survive and will do whatever they can to survive. The environment of the GI tract is perfect for their existence. They flourish there. But when Borrelia comes along and uses up all of the available manganese in our GI tract, the environment becomes much less hospitable. The bacteria have one choice, leave or die. I have a theory as to physiologically how this happens but its just another theory on top of another theory. The Lactobacillus find the manganese in the body due to the manganese binding of polyamines and its extracellular transport. Chronic immune responses and cytokine cascades deliver it extracellularly. Then you have gram negatives like Bilophilla and Prevotella that cause infections and live off our excessive nitrogen intake. Candida finds the glucose it needs and thrives as well. Although this is just my theory and you won't find this info anywhere else, it is not just something I am guessing on. It has been researched thoroughly and my conclusions have come from putting the research together.

I am of the opinion that lyme doesn't travel by itself. My thought was that co infection testing was so unreliable, why pay that huge amount of money for something that probably was wrong? I just couldn't do it.

So, I treated lyme and waited to see what was left over. Both herbalist, Buhner and Rawls believe in taking on the worst symptom first to get the patient more comfortable. Then they treat lyme. They do this because many symptoms of babs, bart and myco overlap with lyme and it is hard to distinguish. So they go after lyme.

Well, because these guys know more than me, that's what I did. At the end of my lyme treatment, I did not have any symptoms left over. However, I was so afraid that they would sneak up, I took the Babs, Myco and Bart herbal treatment just to be sure.

I still have no idea if I had those. There were MANY symptoms that sure sounded like those co infections, but I really have no proof.

We can help you find a LLMD.


The two coinfections Bartonella and Babesia are so common that a couple of the top LLMD's just assume the patients have them and treat them.

Cmoor, dr. K says that if you were bitten before 2000, there is chance you have only Bb.

After 2000, chances go down every year... as ticks get more and more contaminated.
