Ok so I have a question about going number 2

I feel like ever since starting the bactrim, I've become constipated. When I was just on omnicef, I went everyday.

My question is: can I take a laxative? If not, can u recommend something I can take that'll help me out

I have Metamucil. Can I take that?

I've personally used the following in the past and can highly recommend it:

Additionally, I've suggested it to a few friends - who, in turn, had such good results, they recommended it to their family and friends!

As I say: Intestinal Formula #1 will make you go #2!

There's also Intestinal Formula #1 MAX, but that product was not available when I last ordered from the company. Honestly, the 'regular' Intestinal Formula #1 was plenty strong.

Ceftin (same class as omnicef) = made me a bit 'loose'.


Increase your fibre...but make sure you're drinking a lot of water...are you already drinking enough water?

Binders have always made me more regular (but I also drink a lot of water and I think it constipates people who might be more dehydrated). So that's something to try that also has another benefit.

I also had good luck with tart cherry juice - just a tablespoon or so did the trick!

Metamucil is easy to find and a quick fix - but if you can find psyllium husk that should work too (it's basically the same stuff but without all the other stuff along with it).

But I agree w/ Girlie - first try drinking more water!

Yeah I'll admit I don't drink nearly as much water as I should. I try soooo hard. I do drink detox tea twice a day.
I'm gonna try to up my water intake.
I'm gonna take some of the Metamucil tonight and see what happens. Thanx!

Are you on nystatin pill or compounded.liquid has sugar..also you my want to try magnesium citrate....gotta keep it flowing

My go-to is miralax. High doses of magnesium and vitamin c can sometimes help. My last resort is senna tea, if I make it too strong I will have terrible cramps and diarrhea, but it does the job!

Also a good probiotic (take away from antibiotics) can really help too.

I'm a huge fan of food for most any situation.

Cherries for getting loose - some say prunes, I like the taste of cherries better

Blackberries for getting firmer

These are all great recommendations!! I used to make a cabbage soup from the cabbage soup diet that made me go regular. Maybe I'll do that again!
