Hello again.
A few weeks ago i posted on this forum because i have a condition called visual snow and i asked if i should get tested for lyme-disease. But now my situation is a whole lot worse. A week ago went to an ophtalmalogist because i was experiencing something i believe is called "scintillating scotoma". Unfortunately when he examined my eyes he found round retinal holes (he called them tufts) in both eyes. I went to many ophtalmologists before (the last visit was about
1 year ago) no one has ever seen any holes in my retina. The principal consultant (a very experienced doctor) who examined my eyes said these holes did not devlop in this one year where i hadn't seen any ophtalmologists, he said they have been there longer and have become visible now because i got older. He said its a "genetic thing" and he also said it's very unlikey a retinal detachment will come from this and it does not require laser surgery. But i'm very afraid these holes are caused by lyme-disease.
Can lyme-disease cause retinal holes?
Would the doctor have seen it, if these retinal holes are caused by other things (such as lyme-disease)?
If lyme disease CAN cause retinal holes do they get bigger or do more holes develop over time?
I'm so aifraid lyme-disease caused these holes and that they progress or "multiply".
Thank you for your time ans answeres.
