Anti parasitic meds ...useful? Dangerous? Biltricide/ Pyrantel/Stromectol etc

my DS (26) took the full protocol a couple of times within the last 2 or 3 years and it was the only thing that ever showed any promise. Unfortunately it didn't stick, maybe because didn't do it long enough....I have decided just recently to put him back on parasite meds for the long haul. Also try Alinia, I don't see it on your list. Alinia and Albenza seemed to do the best for him.

Hi Kuda! I took the combo of ivermectin (stromectol) and albendazole. Def good drugs for me, made me herx like crazy! I do think ivermectin is quite safe, albendazole may require some closer monitoring via labwork. What kind of dosing schedule will you be on? Initially doc just had me on one 18mg ivermectin dose weekly, and one albendazole dose (I forget dosage, but think it might've been 200mg). After a bit he upped the 18mg ivermectin dose to twice a week. There might be more aggressive dosage schedules out there but at the time that was hard enough for me to handle in terms of herxing so this dosage schedule worked for me.

And I 2nd frikfrak, alinia is also a good drug, overall quite safe in terms of side effects as well. Has broad activity: antiparasitic, antiviral, and I think I read somewhere activity against the roundform of borrelia. Could be worth looking into at some point.

awesome, and glad to hear alinia is on the docket. Please keep us posted. I think this is a promising treatment to try. Personally I would introduce one med at a time in an effort to gauge and manage potential herx issues but certainly talk to your doctor to see what their suggestions and strategies entail. I'm particularly sensitive to herxheimers so this is an issue I'm always on the look out for and have to be somewhat careful in my pacing and how fast I introduce meds.
