Hey guys! When I saw my LLMD Thursday (8/3/17), she prescribed a "Neuro-Stabilization/Detox" for 1 month or until my sleep changes.
Here's the specific changes:
Before appointment:
-lithium orotate 15-20mg, magnesium oxide 500mg, vit. d 2000IU, vit b12 5000mcg, multi (Women's One-A-Day), fish oil 2g, Florastor 2 capsules
-I also started taking Ashwagandha, l-theanine, mushroom supplement, curcumin/turmeric supplements about a week before appointment. No effect.
After appointment:
-Stopped Ashwagandha, l-theanine, mushroom supplement, curcumin, vit D, vit B12 and multi to evaluate for interference with sleep
-Started melatonin 3mg but discontinued after 2 days because it interrupted my sleep (~8hrs -> ~2hrs)
-Started 200mg Neurontin (Note: I have been on it before at 1800mg with increased fatigue=only side effect)
-Started NAC & ALA (amino acids) 600mg each 2-3x/day, pinball & burbur (de-tox herbs) 10 drops each
-Replaced magnesium oxide 500mg with magnesium citrate 500mg
-use magnesium oil spray as needed
Since Thursday, I have been feeling *a lot* worse. My joint pain and nausea are at their worst ever, I get a migraine every day and I'm not sleeping well.
My question is: Why did this happen? Is it a coincidence or could it be due to the supplements?
This is supposed to be a de-tox protocol. Also, from what I've read, none of these supplements cause a "herx." I didn't even think they're known to cause side effects, especially pinella/burbur.
I would appreciate if any of you could give me some insight on why this could be happening, what I can do to feel better and/or personal experiences with these supplements.
