Sounds like the antibiotics are working and you have herxes from it.
Whenever I see post like this it makes me wonder if this is why so many don't get well. People experience herxing and then back off.
It's no pain no gain with Lyme.
I already know the responses. "No, herxing too much is bad, you have to find a balance".
Well what's "too much" ?
I agree ride it out and weather the storm. Don't let these mother fathers off the hook by backing off.
I don't know - I struggle with knowing if it's a herx or med side effect. Antibiotics are not without side effects. So very hard to decipher. I was about
to start malarone the other day and read that a serios side effect can be trouble breathing - most of us would assume it's a babs herx! I tend to be more sensitive to most drugs - I get hearing issues with azith. This is my problem. The side effects feel like an adverse reaction from the drug.
The side effects tend to go away after the drug leaves my system. But maybe it is hitting Lyme until then? I have no way of really knowing.
The side effects are scary though cause it can be a dull pain around my chest area. I wish there was a way to know for sure what's going on.
Also on flagyl it made my chest hurt after just 1-2 doses and kept me up for 24+ hours. It also almost feels like organ failure to me like my kidneys aren't working or something but I did get tested by the doctor so if that was true I'm sure they'd likely pick that up.
