Hello all,

Today I got my igenex results back - IGX and CDC negative however I would like your opinions.

My IgM was as follows:

23-25 Indeterminate
39 Indeterminate
41 ++
66 +

IgG :

41++

I am aware 23-25 and 39 are both lyme specific, and I present many symptoms of Lyme.

I so dislike indeterminate. It is like - we almost see lyme. How do you almost see lyme?

If either your IgM Indeterminates were positives, you would be cdc positive.

Just remember that symptoms count. They really should count with your doctor also.

Girlie, no I don't. There is one that takes my insurance but he requires a diagnosis first. I don't have the money for an LLMD who doesn't take insurance.

my advice is ask your llmd that you take two weeks of amoxicillin then wait one month, then redo the igenex.... amox is a very gentle abx....

you might get something else than IND....

Right, that's just what his receptionist said he doesn't see patients without a diagnosis but she was likely wrong. I can probably schedule an appointment for something else like allergies, etc.

You say you have many symptoms.

I would make an appt for one of those symptoms.

The LLMD's are the specialists...

Is he expecting a Neurologist or an ID Dr. to diagnose you?

Girlie, I think the LLMD is expecting the Igenex test results to confirm lyme and thus, a diagnosis.

Many doctors rely on test results for the diagnosis. They are not trained to think diagnosis. Their conclusions are based on test results. That is why they give us so many tests.

LLMD's do diagnose - that's why we go to them when our regular Doc's have failed us. The tests are used as a backup ...or in conjunction with symptoms, history...etc.

This is a LLMD that sees patients with allergies as well?

Is it possible for you to travel and find another LLMD further afield? One that will diagnose you?

My LLMD in Sacramento, CA (the capital) saw my results were negative Igenex and CDC and said to me "what do you want to do now?" He said I could take a break and be re-tested in 3 weeks.

That is when I ditched that LLMD and found another.

I'll throw this out there just as food for thought. Igenex has fallen behind in it's testing. There's a test that's getting much more accurate results in Europe-I think Germany that's 200 euro's. That's no more than what we are paying for a western blot. I can get the name from my LLMD or we can likely find it will a little google work

jrpsf - is that Armin Labs? That lab is gaining popularity here in BC.


I know here some of the LLND's are using it, but mine still prefers the Igenex WB when testing for lyme.

Not sure about co's though.

Nope, I did not see the tick. Just the bull's eye. But the LLMD did not see the bull's eye and he wanted a cdc positive.

He is on the list and it is noted. I told you and Trav about him long ago and I put it on my copy and told you both to put it on yours.
It should be on yours also.

Viking Girl, my Igenenex test was also CDC negative, even though I had the bullseye rash (the PCP I saw in the Northeast, where Lyme is raging, said it was a spider bite) and Bartonella streak marks.

I had been erroneously treated with steriods by the time I was tested and my LLMD now said that could have affected my results. But, who knows? Igenex testing is not 100% reliable, nor is any surrounding these tick-borne illnesses.

Bottom line: as others have said here, you need to find an LLMD that will treat clinically. It's so important, particularly if co-infections come into play. Hope you can access a good doctor and move forward.

KB69 said it very well. Find a doctor that will treat you clinically!!

I know some want a positive lyme test, but a good LLMD will treat you based on symptoms.

This is not to say that your LLMD is bad..... just ask you LLMD "can you treat me because of my overwhelming symptoms that point directly to lyme?"
