Bartonella treatment options

I had good luck with a Rif, mino, and plaquenil combo.

I've plateaued on pulsing Ceftin/Bactrim since May

Girlie I was thinking about Rifabutin but wondering if its too close to Rifampin which I plateaued on. I also neglected to mention I'm also on Plaquenil daily and Tindamax 3 days a week.

In terms of Babesia I've done many anti-malarials over the past 18 months like Coartem, Allinia, Tindamax, Artimisiae and recently Plaquenil. When I started taking Plaquenil I had a reaction the first 2 days then went away. When I started Tindamax the 2nd time recently same thing but for one day then nothing of note.

Inversely I believe the Bart and/or Lyme is blocking me totally eradicating Babesia. I did best on Rifampin and I do have the tingling toes/heel thing so I'm guesstimating Bart is my main problem.

Problem is I seem to have a very stubborn case of it ;(

I do like the idea of trying Rifabutin and Minocycline together to mix things up. I also want to get an herbalist who can treat me with herbs alongside the abx combo cause it seems abx's aren't getting me too far in my healing.

I was on Rifampin for a little over 4 months. During that time I swapped out Cipro, Doxy and Biaxin. I did well on it for my head issues but those started petering out so stopped it all and tried Levaquin which was terrible for my tendons and now I'm on Biaxin, Bactrim 4 days and Tinidazole only 3 days and Plaquenil daily for about 2 months.

Thanks so much for the info it does give me a bit more hope that if I keep plugging away and rotating stuff I'll eventually make progress. Since the beginning of the year its been more 1 step forward 2 steps back which is frustrating when it's over almost a year.

Thank you ..for this thread ..maybe add houttynia ,bvt and plasma rife?..floxies are out so ..im about to start riffy and wonder ehat liver can handle ...what building have you done rikky, not detox but nurishing things for liver ,kidneys and other organs ...i think seeing tcm doc and changing game maybe will help..

Rikky - Can you send me the name of the dr on Long Island who specializes in Rife? Did you have an appt with the dr? if so, how did it go? thanks.

Just reading all the threads about Rifampin. I've been on Rifampin for 2 yrs and not making much progress at all. I am seeing some reduction in Bart sx, but think my lyme and bab are so strong that it's keeping me sick. still have a long way to go on Bart too. not sure if i have mycoplasma too. have a lot of the sx.

I'm currently on Rif + mino + azithro + tinidazole pulses. am supposed to add Bactrim to the mix this week. I'm nervous about the drug interaction with Rifampin. (Rif decreases blood levels of BActrim and Bactrim, to a lesser extent, decreases blood levels of Rifampin). Dr H and Dr Marty Ross prescribe this combo, but I'm still nervous about it not working.

Anyone tried Rifampin + Bactrim and had good results from it?

Cr3ativegirl - what Bart symptoms did you have that resolved with the Buhner herbs?

Girlie- I kicked it Jan 2016 so it's been a while. And I was on Doxy for Lyme when he gave me the rifampin. If I remember correctly, I had the horrible foot pain when I would get up after laying down. It would go away after 8-10 steps. I also had the torso scratches and rashes (I took pictures!). Swollen glands. I also had this weird fishball eyeball syndrome. My eyes were really sunken in and red when I woke up. Very strange. I looked like a grouper. I also think head pressure.

I'm not sure why people need to be on the meds for as long as they are on? He also put me on the DesBios Bartonella homochord which totally worked to clear it. I guess I got lucky. I think it cropped up again a month later and he said, let's do another week of rifampin and another bottle of DesBios and then I haven't had any problems since.

I know its gone because it hasn't shown up on any scans for over a year.

I actually think I got Bart from a stray cat that we took in who scratched the crap out of me when I took her to the shelter.
