Can Anybody Identify/Name This Symptom?

Hi all; apologies for another "anyone have this symptom" thread.

I have this thing that happens and the frequency varies from day to day, it probably happens more when I'm feeling crappy.

I get little 5-10 second electrical shocks (for lack of a better term) that result in pain/discomfort/other things. I will list some examples below:

-Ear(s) feel like air is being sucked out of them and get really loud tinnitus (sometimes high pitch sometimes low)
-Left hand gets a temporary itchy/painful tingle
-Back of head tingles but not painful
-Temporary pain in left temple (this one is not fun)
-2 to 5 second feeling of breathlessness, like someone quickly squeezed my lungs and I do a forced exhale

Please note all of these things are quick and temporary. I have many other symptoms such as permanent tinnitus, feeling of water running down legs, fatigue (not that bad but definitely worse than my pre-symptomatic state), clicking ears/cheeks when talking/swallowing amongst others.

For further context I'm currently 4 months into abx/herbal treatment and at this point can't really say I'm getting better. Have overall felt worse since starting abx so not sure if thats a by-product or something else.

Just would like to know if anyone else has had these experiences so maybe I can narrow down my condition/co-infections or something like that.

Hi yes, I have seen others post about that symptom. I have not had it.

Your feeling worse since being treated could be herxing caused by the die off of bacteria. It creates toxins in your body from it. Which increases symptoms and can produce new symptoms at times.

Detoxing is very important to help the body rid the toxins.

Yes, I had all that. I am not on ABX, but do have babs and bart. It's one of those. I did notice that it went away over time - who knows why? I suspect it got better now that I'm detoxing better and drinking more water on a daily basis.

My thinking is that everything just gets better over time and very slowly. Water is so important. Lots of things improved when I drink at minimum 64 ounces per day. Different for everyone. Your body weight cut in half is your amount. The days I don't drink enough water, I feel terrible.

Hi mr dude -

I have had so many sx like that - all weird, quick-hitting, but don't seem to make much sense. Our bodies are in a constant, dynamic state of change, particularly while we are treating these crazy infections. I wouldn't worry too much what they mean - but do note if they become more consistent.

A couple sx you describe might suggest a yeast/fungal overgrowth - so that's something to consider - here is a lot of info about it in case you're interested:

The most frightening symptom I had was what I called lightening bolt electrical shocks in my brain. I thought it was a stroke.

Here and gone so fast. It always made me freeze trying to figure it out.

Then that subsided, with treatment, and I got those electrical shocks here and there in my body. Weird stuff. I just kept on treating and detoxing.

I get ringing in my ears occasionally.
I also get a short temple pain, then it's gone. Also a stabbing needle feeling behind my eye.
The back of my head goes numb a lot. Sometimes it feels like my brain itches.
The breathing thing is reversed for me- I have a forced INhale. It feels like a vacuum is sucking my lungs toward my stomach.

Just last night, my hand was itching like mad in the middle of the night. There is no rash or bite or anything on it this morning so I don't know what the heck that was all about.

For me, most of that improved with Babesia treatment, but I also just found out I have Bart too, so I can't tell which is which. So many people have all 3 B's.

@goshawk - i've had this symptom since early stages of my problems, I just hadn't really identified or noticed the pattern

@10LymeB - thanks for your suggestion, will give it a go but am not hopeful that water will do the trick

@Pirouette - thanks, I'm taking nystatin at the moment

@PeteZa - that does indeed sound quite scary! I will say these little electrical zaps that I get aren't really that terrible but are so specific that it could maybe help with diagnosis

@BabsBunny - yep, those all sound very familiar to me, the eye one is not fun. I have an appointment with my LLMD in 2 months so I will talk to him about the 3 B's. I don't believe any of my tests showed a positive for those. Maybe he is already treating me for those though, who knows; I'm taking a lot of different meds lol.

All those symptoms sound nerve related. To lessen their impact try look at something to calm down the nerve signals like Gabapentin or Lyrica. Gaba has been a life saver for me as I go through a long term plan to eradicate the 3 B's.
