Liposomal herbs anyone?

Hi, I've come across a few practitioners that are offering liposomal preparations for treating Lyme and co-infections. I think the idea is that these products are more effective at crossing the blood brain barrier and more accessible to the "bugs" than standard herbal preparations. Of course liposomal technology has been around for a bit, I know that Liposomal Vit C is quite the thing and I would guess that some of us are using it. Anyway, just wondering what everyone's take is on this and whether this technology as far as treating lyme disease is hype or actually transfers into more effective treatment.

I don’t know about herbs, but since my stomach hates doxycycline and my doc really wants me on it, he prescribed liposomal doxy. Only available at two or three pharmacies in the whole country... cost me $170!!!! I will submit to my insurance but don’t have a lot of hope. Any suggestions on how to get that cheaper would be greatly appreciated!

doxy already crosses bbb effectivley, no need to make it 'liposomal'

also how does this make it any easier on your tummy? this makes no sense to me.

There's also a practitioner based in MD the uses liposomal herbs, has anyone used his products? Really curious about this smile

He said it would dissolve and absorb further down the digestive track that way. Part of the problem with doxy is that it’s coming up.

On second thought, would it help if I put the regular doxy in an empty gelcap?!? Maybe that would solve the problem very cheaply (my rx is only $5 copay). However, it made me feel sick in general and gave me diarrhea, so... I don’t know. I will try it for a month. Worst case scenario I have to stop again, then I’ll have extra doxy for emergency tick bites or the next poor soul who contracts it.

Yes. I stopped vomiting, but still felt queasy when taking it with food. When I ran to the toilet 4 times in one morning, I said enough is enough!
