I was just wondering if anyone on the forum is being treated at the Robinhood Integrative Heath Clinic in Winston Salem, NC? If you are could you let me know what you think?

Since I lost my LLMD in NC, I am investigating all possibilities.

I went there for a bit. They use a combination abx/herb approach. Lots and lots of supps though - the protocols were a little confusing but maybe they have gotten better with it. They like to rotate you through protocols, changing on a monthly basis with time off in between. It was a different approach and unfortunately I just didn't stick with them. They like to use the Elispot (Germany) for lyme testing.

Thanks for responding k07. I read some reviews and the reviews were either really good or bad. Many people stated that there were lots of supplements.

I'm being treated there. Just started about 2 months ago and on herbs and supplements. Really started the full protocol almost 3 weeks ago. So far I have no complaints and am very hopeful. I'd also like to know if anyone else had been. I've been impressed with the knowledge and easy communication so far. Hope that helps.

I'm surprised this clinic accepts insurance.

"We accept the following insurance providers: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Except Blue Value and Blue Local), Medcost, Coventry, and Cigna."

Of course, that doesn't mean the insurance companies will cover every test or treatment, but anything is better than nothing.

Lwnsmld13, this does help. I hope they bring you back to health! North Carolina needs more practitioners willing to treat lyme patients.

This is great to know. This clinic is under two hours from me. If my neuro doesn't work out, it's great to know I have an alternative that accepts insurance.

I hope it works for you, lwn. If you give it a try, LouTucky, let us know how it goes.

Fyi a few of their practitioners don't take insurance so double check. I know the one who sees kids does not. Also, it was a pay upfront and they submit to insurance if I remember right? Still, pretty nice.

Seems like a lot of us from NC here?!

It does. I know the ticks were really bad at Jordan Lake in Raleigh a few tears back. Like really bad.

I saw Dr W there, the younger doctor. He was very nice but it seemed like he just knew the basics of Lyme disease; when it started to ask questions he didn't know very much in depth information. I stopped going because I felt like with this is such a complex health issue that I needed to find a doctor who knows the ins and outs. He also started me out on a low dose of minocycline for a month, which I know can be used in some cases but it just seemed odd. I did only go to 4 appointments though but didn't feel confident with the last one and he didn't want to see me back again for 3 months.
