Any luck with pulsed flagyl?

Just curious how people are pulsing flagyl. Has it been helpful?

My doctor has me taking it 2 days out of the month.

Week 1 - Minocycline and Azithromycin - Mon-Wed-Fri
Week 2 - Minocycline and Azithromycin - Mon-Wed-Fri
Week 3 - Minocycline and Azithromycin - Mon-Wed-Fri, Flagyl - Thur-Fri
Week 4 - Off

I'm into my 3rd month and I feel quite sick. But, I think this may be the magical month when I turn a corner. We'll see how I feel in a couple weeks

I recently started flagyl. And have herxed more since. Matter of fact I don't think I really herx on doxy.

Flagyl is allegedly a cysts buster. So it kind of makes sense. If all doxy really did was make them all take cover (which is beneficial as well, it's bacterial static so it slows the spread), then it make sense no real big herxing.

Bring in flagyl and I'm feeling it more.

I pulse it 3 times a week.

I was prescribed tinidazole instead of Flagyl when I was treating lyme.

My LLND said to take it two days a week...any two days...and each week it could be different.


I'm now taking it again...but I take it on Thursday and Friday one week out of 4 weeks.

Since i'm pulsing - two weeks on, two weeks off...the spirochetes may come out of hiding on their own anyway.

Edit: I don't notice a difference with it in my protocols.

My llmd had me taking it daily. After reading others posts on the subject, especially girlie's i decided to pulse it. it makes more sense to pulse it to me. I now take it every other week for three days. By the third day i definitely have herx symptoms. I added biaxin to the last pulse cycle, 3 days on flagyl and then 3 days of biaxin. I do iv rocephrin daily. I plan on adding ceftin plus biaxin to the mix next but a flu shot has set me back a bit. I have an appointment with my llmd wednesdsy so i'll see what he has to say, he doesn't know i'm pulsing it.

I herxed the whole time on Flagle. Its real hard on the liver- detox like mad or feel the effects.

What detox method for the liver did you take? I do milk thistle and lemon water. What else should I add specifically for the liver?

I take Pekana Apo-Hepat.

When my liver enzymes climbed during lyme treatment...my LLND switched from MT to the Apo-Hepat.

My liver enzymes did go down - into range...but I also stopped treatment for 2 1/2 months.

After resuming treatment (bartonella) - they never went up again...was it the Apo-Hepat...or the change in treatment.

Maybe it was bart causing the raised enzymes...not sure.

Thank you girlie. My additional herbs of Hawthorn and crypto come in soon. I'm going to pay more attention to Bart. Everyone seems to suggest the symptoms I'm more recently experiencing is bart.

I agree. Bart is so neuro. From my research, bart looks to be worse than lyme. I tested negative for bart. But I'm 99.9 percent sure i have it. Sida is supposed to be awesome for it. I've been on it for 3 weeks and not sure if it's doing anything or not. But one thing has happened in the past week.... my tingling and numbing has subsided completely. However, my walking issues persist. I just started mixing organic oregano essential oil with water and drinking that. After reading the recent study from John Hopkins on oregano, clove, and cinnamon killing lyme, I'm all about it.

Hope you find success. I'm definitely rooting for you. Although I haven't been on this journey as long as you, I feel we suffer similarly.

Your tingling and numbness subsided completely? That's great news. Mine has reduce significantly but still happens on occasion. Sida hasn't been in my protocol thus far. But I have some other antibacterial heavy hitters like hout and isatis.

I'm taking like 13 herbs. JK and Hout is in there. Not Sida tho. Sida is actually not easy to find from a good source.

For some reason Montana Farmacy doesn't carry it.

Woodland Essence has it. I think Sage Woman Herbs does as well.

Are you taking it in tincture form?

What about Isatis and alchornea cordifolia?

Yes Isatis is in there not alchornea.

I think what I'm going to do is stop buying myco herbs, since the abx and my own immune system should be sufficient for myco and use that money to get the full Bart protocol instead.

Decarte - Just a thought as I have knocked down my herbal and supplement count, but do you think some of the herbs you arr taking might be diminishing the power and/or absorbtion of some of your other herbs?

Just a thought as I have read that certain abx can do that with other abx when taken together. We want to make sure they work synergistically. I have knocked down my herbs to sida, hout. And jk only. Although, i have added oregano. Then the abx.

I don't take them all at once. I take 5-6 at any given time and rotate.

Essential oils do not get absorbed through the GI tract. This is what I've know always to be true. Can someone link some evidence saying that an essential oil has been proven to reach the bloodstream after consumption? Also monolaurin does not.

Why wouldn't the EO's reach the bloodstream?

Do you have evidence saying it doesn't?
