As I'm still undiagnosed, Oregano & garlic was my first way of addressing lyme. Hoagie, you're right, it burns like crazy. A slightly easier way to take it is via rubbing it on the bottoms of your feet, which have the largest pores in your body, making it a fast entry point into the bloodstream.
While it helped, I found an even BETTER oil: Clove
Clove is not only antiviral, antibacterial, but anti-parasitic as well, and quite possibly the most potent antioxidant found in nature. So if you have Babesia or think you may, Oregano alone is not going to help. Besides, clove smells *much* better IMO
It does still burn a bit though.
Since I started taking clove (2-4x a day, 3 drops per foot), 90% of my symptoms have gone away, flare ups are much less intense, and I sleep through the night consistently. Before I started taking it, I felt doomed. Now, I'm fairly hopeful that I'm making good headway on at least managing, if not killing of the bugs. Guess I'll find out when I finally get properly diagnosed & tested. Clove has the bonus effect of strengthening libido and vitality too
As others said above, if you don't like taking it via drops on the feet, you can always do drops in empty gel capsules and put it down the hatch. A word of caution on taking oils via skin or internally though-- the purity testing in the majority of the essential oil industry is not great, and not standardized. Different companies have widely different standards and quality levels, and many have left over solvents in them still, so BE CAREFUL with the ones you get. Organic may not be enough.
Hope this helps ya. They've certainly helped me. Best of luck!
