Bullseye but didn't realise it

New to this board so looking for some advice. On 18 August I felt what I thought was a sting/bite on my arm under my jumper and when I took my jumper off I had a small red mark (i assumed maybe a wasp sting but didnt see any wasp) This 'bite' progressed over the next month to the point where I was worried it was skin cancer due to being so bizarre in shape, look and size.

The rash went away approx 4 weeks ago and I was checking my dog for ticks there and decided to google what they look like and lo and behold there is my rash online...identical to the bullseye ones described.

I live in a wooded area and I am always outdoors in an area populated with deer but had not really considered the risk of tick bites (my dog has also managed to avoid any)

Symptom wise my sleeping hasn't been great (but this has happened to me on/off over the years) and only other thing has been a stiff neck which ive had for over a week now (could be the way I sleep)

What I want to know is should I go to the Dr, show photos of my rash which I took at the time, and ask for a blood test? Is there much point now in antibiotics? Keen to do whatever I can as feeling bit scared now and silly that I didnt go to the Dr at the time.

I live in semi-rural Scotland.

Also treating early is the best chance to make sure these infections don't turn chronic.

I don't really have much to add, seems like goshawk pretty much covered the bases...

But I think it's great you took a photo of your bullseye!

Also , while it's understandable that you're feeling scared, your bite was still fairly recent . Everyone is different, but i think you have a better chance of the antibiotics being effective than if you had been infected for years ...

There's definitely a point in seeking treatment!

I have no idea what Lyme treatment is like in Scotland, but I hope you'll be able to get proper treatment quickly!
