I know it's crazy to forego a treatment because of hair loss. I think I've just lost so much (and gained so much too) from the Lyme that handfuls of hair and blowdrying my nonexistent bangs is too tangible a reminder. I'm also not nearly as sick as I used to be so I'm not as "do anything" as I used to be.
Hair loss is often the most traumatic part of cancer treatment so why would this be any different? I've been a cancer buddy to two friends. The best thing you can do is go to one of the wig stores. They are everywhere now because of chemo and the wigs look totally natural. Find a wig that either matches what your hair looked like before it fell out or go wild and get the hair you always wished you had. Here's your one chance. Take a friend for a second opinion. Feel good about
how you look. It will help with your stress levels which help with your immune system. When your hair grows back you can donate the wig.
Don't let Lyme take anything else from you. Get your confidence back.
