Visual disturbances

Hello,

How many of you have floaters, visual snow, entophic blue field phenomenon, muscle twitches, sleep disturbances, intestines bloating and making sounds, articular pains, stabbing pains randomly trough body?
Wednesday I am seeing a doctor who treats chronic lyme.
Till then I cut red meat from my menu, and I took for sleep some pills with passiflora and valerian extract. But it doesn’t feel to help very much. I am waking several times in the night with racing thoughts.
I can t even smoke a joint, because it gives me panic.
I have a positive western blot, a positive Elisa both on Igg. And a dark field microscopy which show the presence of spirochetes and their cystic form.
Will the simptoms get better with treatment?

My symptoms are similar to yours, too:

visual disturbances -- YES, I have floaters and when I herx my lazy eye is harder to focus. Once when I was herxing on minocycline, I was staring at a stationary object and it moved left to right. Very scary, but never happened again.

[Just a note that herxing can temporarily make all of these symptoms worse, once you start treatment, and that can be a typical result of the treatment hitting the Lyme and Co's.]

muscle twitches - YES (ongoing)

sleep disturbances - YES (no longer jerking awake at night gasping since treating Babesia, but do have insomnia)

intestines bloating and making sounds - YES (largely due to my struggles with oral antibiotics, so post-treatment)

articular pains, (joint pain?) - YES

stabbing pains randomly throughout body? YES, and these include ice pick headaches

Hang in there. Treatment should help. I've been treating for a year and moved past a lot of symptoms (primarily tied to Babesia), but I still have to address Lyme and Bart. It can take some time, as Girlie mentioned.

All those symptoms are common with Lyme.

Magnesium helped me with muscle twitches, and I take it before bed to help calm me for sleep. But it cannot be taken at the same time as doxycycline, the antibiotic. If the doctor gives you Doxycycline, wait two hours before or after taking it to have magnesium.

Valerian did not help me sleep. I had to get a prescription for sleep but I don’t like to use it. I rub lavender oil on my feet, and keep a tissue with a little lavender oil next to my pillow. It calms me and helps with panic attacks.

Intestinal problems are my biggest problem right now. I take LOTS of probiotics while on antibiotics. I also eat mostly soup (supa de oase, no sour cream or noodles) meat and cooked vegetables.

I kept a diary of food I ate and how I felt that day and the next day. I could see how some foods make me feel sick, or dizzy, or make my symptoms worse and I cut those out.

Are you under treatment? Have that all of the above improved?

interesting that I don't have those intestinal issues - looks like it's a common symptom.


Although before diagnosis, I did have undigested food coming out...that's a GI issue.
That was around the time I lost the weight. I think my body was getting much nutritional value out of my food..

have you seen a biological dds?
My eyes were terrible till I took care of my dental that my regular dds missed

I have them all except joint pain and stabbing pain

I've had all except the blue field thing. Not sure what that is. Some things have gotten better with treatment - mainly the joint stiffness and foot pain. Other things get worse. Gut issues are among my worst - mainly gut inflammation and recalcitrant constipation. I hope if I keep treating it will get better. I'm in a slump right now, feeling down and wondering if I'm only going to get worse. Sorry.

WalkingbyFaith -- hang in there! I'm in the middle of a 3 week herx from Bicillin injections and am really slumping, too. I felt so much better a few months ago, after treating Babesia, but now the Lyme and Bartonella is really coming to the fore.

It's so hard to stay positive because this journey can be such a long and painful one. But, you're not in this alone, and I truly believe we will all find our way through.

Been treating for almost half a year and these neurovisual symptoms haven't improved at all. I am starting to think that it are more post lyme symptoms and not really related to an active infection.

Are those the only symptoms you have?
