yes, it likely will.

just be aware it tastes awful. drink something acidic immediately after. full dose is 30 ml, any more than that you are on your own.

that would be fine, either way. but water is probably best.

Hoagie- I have found it best to drop/drip it straight on my skin with a glass dropper from a glass dropper bottle (old e-juice bottle). It does feel just like a sunburn for 20 minutes or so.

When I applied with cotton balls it was tough to control. It also wasted a lot of product. I would not use Qtips. I think they have adhesive which would be dissolved by the DMSO and carried into the body. I also wonder about cotton balls as they turn yellow after DMSO exposure. I wonder if there is a chemical reaction there.

I would be careful using this with oils that are not recommended for consumption.

I agree with Missouri - about the E Oils.

I read that DMSO carries substances through the blood stream...and even into the brain...so everything must be free of contaminants.

i've taken 1-3 tsp 2x/day orally at times to improve effectiveness of medicines and well it does other great stuff. this stuff should be like taking an apple a day too bad its not the best tasting stuff but good quality pharma grade isn't so bad nearly odorless and of course colorless.

I wonder if this would be effective on joints or tendons? If you mixed it with an antibiotic or an herb I am guessing that it would pull the herb or abx into the area with it? Any abx or herb to not use with it?

Sheeks - I don't know about the EO, but my husband did use DMSO on a tendon - right knee area.

He had bashed it at work...and it swelled up...pushing on the knee cap...lots of pain.
The orthopedic surgeon told him that all he could do is surgery which involved him shaving off part of it.

Husband said 'no thanks'...and used the DSMO on it..(he swears by it) and the swelling went down within a short time.
Never had an issue since...that was many years ago.

So using it on the tendon with EO may be even better. You try the antibiotic in it and let me know how it goes...maybe I will try it on my shoulder blade area... you first. smilewinkgrin

yes using it with essential oils (hi quality food grade only) is really powerful stuff.

I really hope someone actually mixes it with ABX and applies it topically. i have not heard of anyone doing it yet, but I think it would work fantastic.

i can recommend using "N. American Herb and Spice P73 Super Strength Oil of Oregano", look for it on amazon. "ZANE HELLAS" is another good brand.

OMG how do you drink this stuff??? Doesn't it burn like hell going down? I assume you dilute. That is scary. You must have been able to muster up some mega courage. smile

honestly it really doesn't burn at all. it just tastes really terrible. but no burn.

Is there a herx associated with this stuff?

I was going to use some tonight. But, I am in the middle of a pretty hefty neuro-herx and I don't think I can handle any more of an increase of symptoms at the moment. Anxiety and craziness is pretty up there right now.

it doesn't burn if you mix it with a glass of water and down it. that's what i do.

too bad there isn't big $ to be made using DMSO else we'd have a lot more studies proving benefits, efficacy with other substances, etc. you have to look overseas for real world example (and lots of them) unfortunately.

I put a few drops on my forearm and at the base of the back of my neck. It did burn and itch for about 20 minutes.

This morning I mixed about one and a half teaspoons with a cup of water. It did taste awful, but I chased it with some OJ. We'll see how it goes.

I am a frequent "lurker"...so sorry this is my first post. Are people allowed to post the name of brands they use, or the links where they get them? I understand that this may seem experimental, so want to at least get brands that other people have tried, or have good opinions of.

Please be careful with DMSO. It can be extremely dangerous and is not at all comparable to water. The chemical properties of solvents matter.

I was a pharmaceutical chemist for over 13 years and have used DMSO extensively. We had to be very careful when using DMSO because would eat silica the silica right out of HPLC columns and basically make them trash (at 500 to 1000 dollars a piece). We would often run DMSO through instruments to clean them out.

When you use DMSO try to do it as carefully as possible because it pulls anything sitting on your skin directly into your bloodstream.

true!

whenever I apply it to my skin I make sure the area is clean clean clean! I use 91% isopropyl to clean it with.
