DNA Connexions results-Bartonella

Hi all. I just got my DNA Connexions Lyme Panel test results back. There was a recent post here regarding that test and company. Some were saying they returned too many positives and it was suggested that people could post their results.

Well, they did not find Borrelia in my urine. They only found Bartonella. I’m told that doesn’t mean I don’t have Lyme. I have many Lyme symptoms so I’m still going to treat for it (with herbs) along with all the other infections I have.

I had what my LLMD called a “borderline positive” IFA for Bartonella several months ago. He said it was “not super active” and acted like it wasn’t an issue. But I have many symptoms of Bart. My feet hurt so much. Even when I’m sitting down they throb and burn. I also have chronic gastritis (diagnosed via endoscopy) which is a common Bart symptom, and some of the others. I haven’t sent the LLMD my DNA Connexions results because I’m not sure I want to continue to go to that clinic (for many reasons.) So I haven’t had a medical opinion on the DNA Connexions results and was hoping for input. I’m wondering, if they found Bartonella in my urine, can it be “not super active?” It sure feels like it is.

If they found it...it's there and it needs treatment. (Not to mention your symptoms)

Thanks for the responses. I feel sure Bartonella is causing my painful feet and gastritis and I've had these symptoms for a couple of years now, so it's chronic.

I've lost some faith in my doctor because of this and a few other things so I need to find a new one. Meanwhile, I'm going to start treating Bartonella with Buhner herbs. He says L-arginine helps a lot with Bartonella, so I'm adding that in. I'm also taking Cat's Claw, Japanese knotweed, Chinese Skullcap, Cordyceps and green tea extract. Any tips on treating Bartonella naturally would be welcome.

The other thing this test brings up is that I still don't know for sure if I have Borrelia or not. I started getting all the symptoms after a tick bite and have quite a few active infections (EBV, CMV, Chlamydia pneumoniae, mycoplasma) so I have a lingering suspicion that I do even though I haven't tested positive for it. I've had an equivocal IFA for it but that's it. I'm just going to stop wondering and treat for it along with all the other stuff. Maybe I'll get tested for it again in the future.

Dr. MR in Seattle says Houttyunia and Sida Acuta will hit bard pretty hard for him it works about 70% of the time. I'm taking these two specifically for Bart and to protect red blood cells (Sida does that).
