Yes, especially when eating any sugars, breads and processed foods. It felt like my energy was being drained within only half hour or so of eating and my mental functioning would just want to shut down.
It really takes the comfort out of comfort foods. Not fair
I wondered if it had to do with my endocrine system. I think the tbd's really mess with our hormones and throw them all out of balance.
One other "eating" related issue I faced which is very possibly Lyme and co-infection related as I never had the problem before the tbd's, is a sensitivity to sugar. If I ate anything sweet (except honey) I would get acid reflux within a very short time. Following would often be a asthma attack. Since I have researched acid reflux and asthma and there have been studies of the two being connected but I have yet to find a study which also links the two to tick-borne diseases.
These health quirks went away while on treatment but often returned after a few weeks if I stopped treatment. I have read time after time that Lyme bacteria loves sugar so I can only guess they were having a party every time I had cake or
cookies but it was no party for me. I was forced to be very mindful of what I ate.
