Can anyone guide me on using Burbur Pinella for detox. Do you take everyday standard dose then increase when you Herx badly. Starting ABX med for Bartonella this week.

You can either take it everyday...or just when you're herxing.


I took the standard dose on the bottle...and if the herx didn't subside within an hour...I'd take another dose...and even do a third one.

I chose to take it when I herxed ...and then later I took it every day...but then switched back to just taking it when I herxed.

I don't think it's working for me anymore. So, now I've ordered Jernigan's Neuro-Antitox -CNS/PNS II

We'll see how that one works.

Will be taking Zithromax and Doxy.
Wanted to start Rifampin - but could not. I am on antidepressants and the Rifampin
metabolizing it. Not many choices. I can't to Levaquin - tendon issues before yrs ago
I think once I am stabilized after 60 days - my doc will switch me over.
Not sure, I.m new to this.
Do you know anything about Sparga Sulfur Detox drops. I have CBS mutation and my sulfur pathways are blocked.

Can you take Rifabutin? Or does that metabolize the antidepressants too?

I think she will switch me over Rifampin once my anxiety and depression improves with taking the Zith/Doxy for 2 months.

What is Rifabutin? I've never heard of that or seen that in my research?
It wasn't mentioned with my LLMD. Does that treat Bart? and with what combo.

Rifabutin is in the same class as Rifampin. Sometimes when Rifampin doesn't work well, Rifabutin will.

I'm not sure why the LLMD's usually prescribe Rifampin instead.
Maybe the rifabutin isn't covered by some insurance plans? IDK

From what I've seen, Rifabutin can be combined with the same abx as Rifampin.

Do you know what your Dr. will prescribe to go with the Rifampin? Azithromycin?

Not sure what she will subscribe. Are you symptom free now? I'm afraid too ask.
My LLMD says 6 months for Bart. I got tick in August.

No, I'm not symptom free. I've got less than 10 symptoms left (about 5 or 6 that are bad ones)

I started with close to 40 but am having trouble getting rid of these last ones.

6 months for bart? No one can say for sure how long it will take. It could be 6months...or 9...or 12.

Well, you got bit in August..relatively short time ago. You may do well since it's not a really long-standing infection. But, I also know people who had it for a short time and are treating for over 2 years now.

Try not to think ahead...and how long it will take....

Under Cowden's proticol you take 20'drops 30 min prior to lunch and 30 min prior to bedtime. If they are are in seperate bottles , it's 10 drops each.

This appears to be 1/2 of his detox protocol and is for brain and nerve. Parsley is the second half your take 30 min prior to breakfast and dinner. Parsley is a liver & kidney detox.

I just started the formal protocol but prior on abx I was taking 20 drops 3 x daily.

However this is his primary herx control and when herxing instructions are .

"if herx is suspected take 20 drops every 10 min for up tp 2 hours or put 4 dropper fully in a water bottle and sip over 2 hours. So that's 120 drops over 2 hr period. "

For this proticol if you are still herxing after you back on the bug kill herbs until you stop herxing.


No mention of increasing parsley dose.
