Strenght training get more oxy into the tissues (good).
Cardio is hard on the immune system. Its been discovered that seasoned Marathoners have weaker immune systems than non-runners.
Then again, you not going to do a marathon right?
I did major cardio for years when I was ill (but not DX'd yet), and lived.
During treatment I did very low cardio, as it did not feel good. This almost got me into trouble out in the boonies once.
After treatment, I gradually increased mnt biking, x-c skiing, snowshoeing, ect.
Early this evening I just Snow jogged about 100 yards in 10-15 inches of snow as a trial. Soft, no impact, tiresome. First time in four years. Felt very energetic this evening.
Sounds like you're doing well! that snow jogging sounds intense.
I think I'm ready to start back on the stationary bike. My resting pulse is consistently back to normal now (65 bps) for the past 3 months. I took some hikes in the desert back in January, the longest being 4 miles. A year ago, I couldn't walk around the block.
I guess I'll just ease in and see how it goes. The day after I took that 4 mile hike, I got my first cold since getting Lyme sick. I felt great after the hike, like I could have done it again. Hard to know if I got it from a shopping cart or if the hike affected my immune system. My Lyme symptoms didn't worsen, just a garden variety cold. Actually, I got over it quicker than usual.
When younger, I could count on a cold resolving in 7-10 days. The past 10 years or so, it's been more like 3-4 weeks. This last one resolved in 7 days.
I guess I won't know til I try more cardio.
