doxy 200 , efficient ?

hello, I'm m taking doxy 200 for nearly three weeks and for the moment, no positive effect but 4 herxs and for a few days, my classical symptoms are accentuated but no more herx.My doctor says me it'is a test treatment...
I ask me a question : Am I impatient and must I wait to see a little positive effect ? or this dosage is not enough to have an improvement ? , I have serraptase at home and I ask myself if I can associate serraptase and doxy or change dosage of doxy and take 300 mg. I must see my doctor in 3 weeks...

Are you taking 200 mg each day or 200 mg twice a day?

It can definitely take more time than that, maybe a lot more time. I don't think I would start serraptase this early, but others here will know better. Whatever you do, keep treating until all the symptoms are gone and then longer.

200 mg twice a day is the recommended dose.

Are you detoxing? My favorite detox method is epsom salt baths -- makes a big difference for me. There are lots more methods in the pinned thread for new members if you haven't seen that yet.

thanks, yes i take a epsom bath with lavender oil each start of night.

I think 200 mg is not enough for my part to act...to be continued

As Dahlias mentioned - it needs to be 200 twice daily

Is this a recent tick bite/infection? If not - then you will need more than just the doxy

no, 4 years that I have my symptoms...
with 200 each day, it's already difficult to support, 400 ... I dare not imagine !
perhaps can I take 300 ?the dosage is not in relation with the weight ? my weight : 55 kg

55 kg is about 121 lbs. No, you shouldn't take less than 400 mg.

When I was prescribed the doxy at 200 mg twice daily, I was about 126 lbs.

You can go to 300 mg first (200 and 100) for a couple weeks, then to 200 x 2.

But, you do need a second antibiotic. monotherapy is not recommended for chronic lyme.
