Hi Denise,
Glad to hear from you. Thank you Denise. You've been a big influence for me.
Before I came to this forum in February, I was sleeping until sometimes 3pm feeling no reason to get up. I went to the store once or twice a week, and that was my life. I didn't feel a sense of hope.
I feel a strong connection with the people in here and all the symptoms, most of which I've had at some time but didn't know about
this forum. I was lost all those years on my own. I went to the 1st post for "new to lyme" by CajunGrl and found the info on detoxifying with a thanks to you for info. I read every post I could find of yours.
Also, ccpoly posted a condensed summary of the book and that gave me confidence that I could make it because at that time my brain was so clogged; I just couldn't imagine making it through reading Dr. Jernigan's book and the summary allowed me to understand some of the basics.
Dr. Jernigan had lyme and found ways himself to overcome it. I read about
his story and lyme on his site, http://hansacenter.com/lyme-disease/
He traveled the world to talk to and find the most knowledgeable people about
lyme and chronic illness. He has created herbal remedies to ease and clear up this horrible disease. He knows what he's doing.
I do believe also that his 2 suggestions about
diet, greatly improve conditions while taking treatments. Those suggestions are: (I'd be in so much trouble binging all the time if I didn't have this.)
1. a book by Dr. Rau with lots of recipes "The Swiss Secret". I found this through 1/2 Price Book Store; ordered it for a little over $5. The first few weeks are strict, and then it gets easier. I ended up substituting purified or spring water for the alkalizing soup.
2. eat according to your "blood type"...my blood type is A positive and it's right on track. Find out what your blood type is. I haven't bought the book yet but I read as much as possible about
my blood type and the foods good for it and the conditions and diseases that are commonly associated with it. "Eat Right 4 Your Type"
www.dadamo.com/Anyway, I'm very thankful. I'm 68 and I have hope now and I do believe I will get completely over this.
I went shopping again today, visiting, and mostly enjoying living. I want a few more days to just enjoy this and then I'll start on Step 2 more in depth.
