Did you happen to introduce any new supplements, around the time you first began to notice the smell?
The only experience I can somewhat relate is when I began taking some supplements from Standard Process. After starting the supplements, I started smelling a funky odor. I'm not sure if it was actually emanating from my body or I had the perception of the odor. Either way, once I stopped the supplement, the odor abated.
I contacted Standard Process to inquire and they told me to contact the doctor from whom I bought the supplements. The doctor, in turn, told me to contact Standard Process. Catch-22. So, I never got an answer as to why it happened or whether it happened to other Standard Process customers.

I often smell ammonia or similar to cat pee, and sometimes even gasoline when I take detox baths and sweat a lot. Sometimes I smell it when I am not sweating though. I know ammonia is a by product of something Lyme related but I cant remember what. ;) Does it smell like that?

I'm more sensitive to smells in general now, and weirdly I've smelled things that aren't really there (yes a smell hallucination). Could that be what you are having? I attribute that to yet another bizarre neuropathic symptom. My only advice would be to drown it out with smells you like (peppermint oil, tea tree oil, lavender).

Your body chemistry changes A LOT when you're healing, detoxing, or sick. I mean, it changes every day anyway. I'd say this is your body telling you it doesn't like the toothpaste. It sounds too complicated anyway. You can brush your teeth with coconut oil and it gets them clean. That's all you really need. If you need those supplements, take them other ways. Yours actually sounds kind of harsh, even for natural toothpaste.
PLUS - There is A LOT of citruses (citric/acidic acid) in that recipe above. That's not good for your teeth, it wears down the enamel. What exactly are you trying to do with the toothpaste (besides clean your teeth)?

I have this as well. I was complaining about
it for years even before diagnosed. Only appended when I would sweat. It is very chemically, but I believe it is ammonia. Ammonia emitted from the body will smell different from cat pee. Human pee contains ammonia, but still smells different than cat pee because there are a few more factors that make cat pee smell well.... like ca pee.

when i was very sick, during herxes, i could smell that in my sweat and in stool (sorry for being grose) but it was clearly a smell that was unusual. i always thought it is ammonia. but i do not know ...
luckily i no longer have that, since more than 2 years ago.

I remember my thyroid getting swollen. I went to my doctor about
it but her tests showed nothing. Then after a few days of hot humid weather the swelling was gone and the skin on my throat was red and looked like and felt like sunburn.
It was in hindsight a very efficient detox. Maybe what you are experincing is just that.
