flagyl holy moly

i tryed flagyl only 200 mg 2 times a day last 3 days i felt i startet to feel different like the feeling when i tryed doxy then i took a dose today allso and omg i got terrible brain pressure strange eyes pressure feeling and the world seems dark like a depression i have never had depression but i guess it feels like that is that a normal reaction?

drink lots of fluids to flush out the toxins as you're killing off some bugs. as much as it sucks that's a good thing you're getting such a reaction kick those buggers out!

Flagyl made me herx hard for the first 3 months I took it (500mg x 4 days, week 3 of every month)

Just had aches, joint pains, sweats and laughing fits. Deadset. So it can make you a bit loopy, or more specifically the herx can, as I take it now with none of the above occurring.

I'm so sorry you are having such a bad reaction to flagyl, is it possible that you are simply not a candidate for antibiotics? Or that you just may be allergic to them?

I feel so bad when I read how people suffer taking these abx when there are so many better options out there with much less side effects. I guess some just believe their doctors when I always questioned them (I even walked out on several doctors because I thought they were clueless) but that's me.

Personally I took a remedy called Borrelogen over 12 years ago and this remedy was tested by 2 different laboratories. One was IgeneX who tested 2 sets of people where they collected dead lyme bacteria from their urine (called the LUAT test).

Edit: Want to accurately post about this test (below are Dr. Jernigan's words):

* I presented research on Borrelogen in 1999 at the International Tick-borne Diseases Conference in New York City, where 500 of the top infectious disease researchers and doctors met to present and discuss research on LD.

As far as I know, the research I did of my formulation called Borrelogen is still the only real laboratory verified research out there that documents via blood tests that a natural remedy even works.

Remember though, Borrelogen is not treating any disease or bacteria…it is supporting the little-known bioenergetic immune system. That research can be read in my book, Beating Lyme Disease, 2nd edition.


* In that research we used a LUAT test, that essentially is a urine test where the lab counts how many pieces of dead Lyme spirochete bacteria were found in the patient’s urine, usually after a week of taking antibiotics.

A positive LUAT was where the lab found 32 pieces of dead Lyme bacteria in your first morning urine.

A highly positive test was if the lab found 45 pieces of dead Lyme bacteria.

After our patients took 1 dropper TID of Borrelogen for a week almost all of the LUAT tests were between 100 to greater than 400 which is where the lab quits counting! The bioenergetic immune system of the body was able to kill off massive amounts of the bacteria.


Again, I just don't get it why people are suffering when they don't have to. It really makes me feel very sad.

Is there any chance you would consider using alternative medicine?

I was put on flagyl several times. I was working at the time and felt the drug made me unable to concentrate. It also made me cry for no reason at all. Luckily I haven't had to take for a few years now. I didn't like being on it.

A bad reaction to one antibiotic does not mean that alunke82 is "simply not a candidate for antibiotics". or that alunke "may be allergic to them"

1) It could be toxins building up in his/her system

2) There are many antibiotics - several different classes of antibiotics.....one bad reaction doesn't mean someone isn't 'a candidate for antibiotics'.


You do realize that many people have tried herbal protocols with no results, and many have healed on antibiotic protocols.

I realize that the Jernigan products are what you used to treat your infection, but that doesn't mean it will work for everyone.

Since neither you nor I are doctors we really don't know do we? My main point is letting someone know they have options. When I got sick from taking Doxy I wish someone had told me I had other options (and years later I did find that out but it wasn't soon enough).

That said I feel bad when someone is suffering no matter what class of antibiotic they are taking or even what type of herbal protocol they are using. I won't play the guessing game of what is causing their suffering as I believe that is the doctor's job (hopefully the doctor is a good one who looks at every aspect including toxins).

I can only offer support and let a person know there is more than one way for them to heal. I had to learn the hard way so sharing my own experiences may help another.
