Hi everyone!
Just wanted to make a post and introduce myself: Leah here, I have neurological lyme disease and will be starting the Steven Buhner protocol in July! Studying up on herbs now, I have 3 of his books - healing lyme and the two on coinfections. My wonderful boyfriend is in the process of making a GIANT spreadsheet of all the herbs that I'll need for treatment, dosages, prices etc OMG I LOVE HIM! c: I have a hard time with that much info at once these days much less making am Excel out of it! I'll share that here once is finished, of course it won't have everything as we didn't include herba for symptoms I don't have but there are well over 100 herbs / supplements to consider. I hope I can keep up the posting but I have a feeling ill be feeling pretty bad come July. I'm gonna go slowww and detox much.
Thank you! So nice of y'all to welcome me here! Right now we're pricing everything out. I'll use my local coop for much of the stuff that I don't have to order online, otherwise Im gonna try woodland essence tinctures to begin with so I can get a feel for the herbs then switch to combo tablets if it gets too expensive and/or once I know I can tolerate the herbs. I'm guessing I'll have issues with cat's claw and andrographis, just a hunch. A hunch developed thru 17 years of chronic symptoms lol...
On that note, I'm pretty nervous to take any immune boosters as they've caused me tons of inflammation in the past, Buhner says just leave them out if you have late stage ie immune function had shifted into an autoimmune type response, but I also want to make sure I'm addressing that aspect of the treatment.
Any thoughts? My initial thought is to take small amounts of eleuthro and see how that goes.
Thank you for the welcome!
Hi Leah,
I don't think you've been officially welcomed here! I'm sorry for my tardiness.
You are a lucky lady to have a supportive boyfriend to help you...that's awesome!
Do you know yet where you're going to purchase your herbs?
Buhner has his recommended sources.
I've purchased Green Dragon Botanicals (capsules), Woodland Essence (tinctures), and SageWoman Herbs (tinctures)
All are good sources...and of course there are more.
We do encourage our new members to look through the information contained in the thread: "New to Lyme?..Start Here!" It's packed full of information.
Please keep reading, posting...asking questions....lots of knowledge and support here.
