I want to try fecal transplant for my GI issues at home. I found a doner. Whats tests need to be done on the donor to ensure the feces are safe to use? Thanks

Sean,
I'm not a healthcare practitioner, so take my advice for what it's worth, but I strongly urge you to seek-out the assistance of a qualified healthcare provider that's trained in Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT).
If you Google "FMT Doctors" you will find two matches in the top few results that should give you names and addresses of doctors/clinics.
Your interest and sense of urgency is understandable, based on what I've read in a couple of your posts. However, I hope you don't rely upon unqualified people in the comments of a forum to perform a potentially life-altering procedure like FMT.
I'm not trying to be negative or suggest you not do it - I'm simply suggesting you get the right help. I'm not sure you're going to get that help on this forum.
Whatever you decide, though, I wish you much luck and success.

I can't find anyone willing to help me. I was hoping someone has tried it and knows the correct testing and can help walk me through it. I have a family member willing to be a doner.

Sean - were you around here when we had that member who was doing the fecal transplant - using her boyfriend as the donor?
I wish I could remember her screen name so I could try to find posts.

I wish I could email her. I want to know how people were able to have doctors test their doner. I wonder how she is doing now.

Sean, have you tried Reddit? Lots of boards there. You might find one that helps.

One of my good coworkers just had this done. Apparently don't watch any TV specials on it....but she is doing much better since she had it done. Is there a reason why you are hesitant to go through medical channel to do this? There are two ways of having it done so definitely best to talk to a specialist and make an informed decision on which way to go.

My functional medicine doctor agreed to test my doner who is a family member. It looks like I should be starting this therapy in the next few weeks as long as everything checks out.
I can make a new post updating my progress if anyone is interested.
