Albumin Ratio in CSF Does anyone no what this is?

Hello All,

I am trying to figure out what a Albumin ratio is in a CSF lyme test and what is normal or not normal, any help would be appreciated.

Dave - did you have a lumbar puncture to test for lyme?

I've not heard of Albumin ratio being part of any testing for lyme before.

What else did the CSF lyme test results consist of?

It consisted of of the below.

Lyme Disease Studies
B. Burgdorferi Ab Index, S & CSF
Control Ab Index
Albumin Ratio
Interpretation

Well... a ratio is comparing to something else. Ratio: "the quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other."

So some other word is missing on whatever your looking at. Cant have a ratio of one thing.

Ex:
Albumin / Globulin Ratio or Albumin / Creatine Ratio.

Both can be part of a general Physical routine blood test - "comprehensive metabolic panel" (CMP).
