Hey everyone,
Had Lyme for 2 years now. Probably babesia too but bloods were negative. Went untreated for 14 months or so but nevertheless I was almost better. 85-90%, then 2 weeks ago I went bushwalking with some mates and was bitten by 8 more ticks. They got none between the pair of them.
Anyway, joints got sore from the bites, etc, chills, all the usual stuff. Doc prescribed me amoxycilin + clauvinic acid or something. It’s a penicillin derivative, to add on top of my minocycline 200mg, azithromycin 500mg, tinidazole 500mg.
But since the bite and especially this week my sleep has been absolutely dreadful, I’m so tired. I always fall asleep immediately but I awaken after 5-20 minutes with a pounding heart, wide awake. I then proceed to lay in bed for between 2-4 hours, wide awake, intermittently leaving bed to take more sedatives (wine, GABA, valerian, ashwagandha, lexotan, etc) until I sedate myself to sleep. How tired I was before this initial, tiny sleep has NO bearing whatsoever on how awake I feel afterwards. Every night this week it has been half a bottle of wine which I am not comfortable consuming under the best circumstances, but I don’t have a choice as I need sleep.
Sorry for the wall of text, has anyone experienced this and worked out what it was? Feels like babesia reactivation but the more chronic symptoms aren’t present although I wouldn’t expect them to be. When my babesia was untreated I'd have this happen + sweats or very early morning awakenings, same feeling though. I am in Australia if that makes any difference to anyone.
If anyone can provide any insight on causes and remedies that would be fantastic.
