A few weeks ago I added a free diary app to my phone, and after three weeks, I highly recommend it.
The best part of this app is that it serves as mental therapy. I use it to write how I feel, the pains, aches or feelings that I am feeling at that moment and also write down what I think is causing it. I find that it calms me down to write down what is on my mind. And then i go back to what i wrote and try to articulate it better so that in itself takes my mind away from the feeling and I usually feel better afterwards. Kind of like talking to a friend or a therapist. Sometimes I just need to get it out there. I can see the days that I felt depressed or anxious and the days when I felt good.
I also write down how I slept the night before, what medicine/herbs I took in the morning and at night, and how much I took. Helps me to keep track of when I switch to a different abx. and I write down why I skipped a dose if I do.
Every time that you enter an entry, it dates and time stamps it. It then automatically puts everything that you wrote down for that day in one page by time of day. You can then scroll through the days by swiping the page.
One of the things that it has helped the most is that I no longer use my wife as a sounding board to tell her everything that I am feeling. Even though she never complained, I could see it in her face that she was tired of me telling her about
every pain and symptom that I was having.
And because of my brain fog, I am now capturing everything so I now can go back to each day and write down a summary of my symptoms from the diary for my doctor's visit.
I write in it every few hours so I can see hour by hour how I was feeling that day. As I go through the logs, I am amazed at how I ever survived some of the days. As I read the events of that day, I read how badly some of my days have been and I can't imagine the body surviving so much suffering. But it's all there.
One thing that I noticed is that on days that I felt well, I hardly wrote anything in it. I guess I had nothing to complain about
. Last week I was feeling so good on the 16th that I even forgot to write down any events for that day.
Anyways, the app name is "Notebook Free, Diary-journal app" on the Apple store. The app is free and I am unsure if it is offered for Android phones.
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation to this app nor am I getting paid or making any money from it.
have you found something similar to this that has helped you? I know that some people keep spreadsheets.
