I may have asked this before. Didn't show up on a search and I've never gotten an answer.

If CSM binds everything in the intestines, and it is said not to take any herbs or meds within a couple hours of CSM because they would be bound before absorbed, would it be safe to assume that any additives, such as nutrasweet, would be binded up before it gets absorbed into our system?

Good question. Is there really any way of knowing w/out laboratory testing...

One can speculate that its capable to binding to anything that it comes into contact with; except the 1 thing we'd WANT it to which are the organisms such as salmonella.

I have an appt w/my LLND tomorrow. I was planning on asking her if the cholestyramine could have caused magnesium deficiency.

I've had this idea run through my head a few times. "If i cheat on my diet but take a binder with it does it get negated?" I'm sure some of it does but you have to assume there is still some impact

Yeah. My concern are the additives in it. I only pay $10 w insurance for a tub of csm with the additives. But insurance doesn't cover the pure stuff. And it's super expensive. Just wondering if it's even worth spending the extra money.

Oh, gotcha. Does it seem to help when you take it? Or do you think the additives screw you up

I actually felt worse on it. But I read that happens to those with lyme foe the 1st month or so.

Do you feel any difference on it?

And are you taking it strictly for lyme, or have you had mold exposure too?

I have never taken it but i want to. I have a suspicion of CIRS but no doc has ever given it to me. I am also very reactive to mold
