Hey everyone I know you’re probably tired of seeing my name on this forum but I am struggling really bad right now.

I am on medicine for co infections and I’m wondering if I’ve experienced a herx or if my body is just exhausted.

So I am working now and today was really really bad.

It all began with getting extremely sad thoughts. I knew immediately that my mind was being taken over by something. Then after that the fatiguebgot a lot worse and it felt as if I was going to pass out. My coordination was gone, I was tripping over things, dropping things.i was also having air hunger all night. I work at a factory & I basically do the same thing over & over again. But once I got to feeling this way it was like I kept forgetting the steps to my process that I had done a million times.

At this point I told somebody and they let me sit down for a little bit. But I was still feeling this way when I got back up but a hour passed and although I still felt kinda bad I didn’t feel that terrible.

I can’t tell if this is a herx or not.. I felt this way a day before I started this new medicine. All of this is too hard for a person with a screwed up brain to figure out so that’s why I come here.

I feel so much better after posting here because you all always give me feedback that I can’t get anywhere else. You can’t just walk around looking for somebody that’s had Lyme and ask them a question about it. Thank you all again.

Yeah it sounds like a herx to me. My herxes are anything that exagerates my symptoms. They used to be terrible headaches and inability to focus and concentrate. All of that goes along with a feeling that I would rather just lie down and not do a thing all day. For me it means I am hitting the spot but its not good for some one who is self employed like me. Such is the price of progress when it comes to lyme.
There are somethings you can take to alleviate a herx but I havent found they do much for me. Others might have more help with that one.

Sounds like a pretty bad herx to me. You may want to try reducing doses or stopping for a few days until it passes.

If this only happens in the factory, you may be reacting to mold exposure or chemical exposures. They can cause those same symptoms in susceptible people.

Yeah, that does sound like a herx. What are the new meds you started?

So this suggestion is operating under the presumption that what you are experiencing is a herx: Given that you are working and your symptoms are ratcheting up and making work much harder, it might be a good idea to see if it is possible to reduce the killing agents and see if that gets you to a point where the herxes are more manageable. Or you could try and push through and see if the herx ends up tapering off, it really depends on how you feel and what your intuition tells you. Imo some degree of herxing is inevitable, but it is possible to find pacing that makes it more manageable.

Please don't apologize for posting. Post as much as you need. We are here to support, I always found it so mentally helpful to know I could post here, it was comforting to know there was a place where people understood the trials and tribulations of these health journeys.

Btw are you treating for babesia? the air hunger is a hallmark symptom...

I’m taking TriBlotics from Nutricology. It’s suppose to hit all co infections I believe.

I’ve also had a lot of phlegm, & post nasal drip.

Idk if that would be related to what I’m taking though.

Walkingbyfaith I have requested to my doctor for the blood test to see if I’m susceptible to mold. Whatever that gene is called I can’t rememeber but if it comes back negative for that would that mean mild or chemicals wouldn’t be the case?

Not necessarily. Even those without genetic susceptibility can get sick from toxic mold. Look around your environments at work and home. Do you see mold or evidence of water damage or leaks anywhere in the building? Is there a smell - musty, gassy, or dirty?

Chemical sensitivities can happen to anyone. I think those with Lyme, bartonella, or mold exposure are more susceptible. Water damaged buildings produce microbial volatile organic compounds (mVOCs), which can cause chemical sensitivities.

The reason I am confused about a herx is because I just notice when I start to get really tired that’s when those symptoms come. It’s like my body is just so exhausted it shuts down. But I guess the sad thoughts are telling.

But if it sounds like a herx to you guys then it must be. This stuff is just so hard to tell sometimes

You know your body better than anyone else. If it feels like something other than a herx to you, then trust your instincts no matter what we think.

If this is happening when you're exhausted, then try to notice how you feel before you get to that point and stop and rest before it happens. Many experts warn patients not to push themselves to that point because your body needs rest to heal. I'm preaching to the choir here. I don't rest nearly enough. It's counterproductive.

One minute I think it was probably a herx, but then the next minute I’m like nah I was just really really tired.

I never feel this way unless I’m here at work so that’s what makes me think it may be from exhaustion. But then again it’s my symptoms getting worse so it sounds like a herx.
