Most accurate Lyme disease test??

I am 62 years old and in 2007 was bitten by a tick and developed the classic bulls eye rash. I was unable to see my doctor before the rash disappeared. I had my pcp test me for lyme disease and the Western blot results came back today 0.90 which is negative. I feel certain that I must have Lyme Disease because of all the horrible symptoms I have been suffering for years. I cannot think of any other thing that would make sense for the pain and other problems I have been having for years. What is the most accurate Lyme disease test that I can obtain on my own? What labs offer the test? Thanks for any information.

I would go with the Igenex Lyme WB IgM and IgG for $250 - it’s the best bang for your buck.

Do you have a Dr willing to sign the lab req? Any dr can sign - MD, ND, Chiro


When you get the results you can post them here and we can help decipher them.

The bullseye rash IS Lyme disease - so a test isn’t really needed - but it will be helpful when going to see a LLMD. And it sounds like you didn’t take a photo of the rash.

There are a few to choose from.

Lyme Literate MD's can do a C-6 Peptide blood test. This test confirmed my Lyme (Borrelia Burgdorferi), but not my Bartonella.

IGeneX is a blood test that you can purchase on your own, have blood drawn, and then you ship it to California. If I'm correct, it's best to have a LL Doc read the results for you. (about $250-$300)

Then, there's a urine test called DNAConnexions (about $500). This is my NPLLMD's choice. You have to have a deep tissue massage (about $100) to get the toxins moving in your body. After the massage, you void, then an hour later, you collect your sample. There are a couple of other methods to get the toxins in your urine, but my doc has had the best results with the massage. This test showed that I have Bartonella.

These are the only test I know of. I'm sure others may know of others.

And for Lyme and co’S there’s Armin Labs.

Both are reputable labs.

Thanks for the information. I did not take a photo of the rash and I truly regret it. Will keep seeking a doctor who does more than the test to confirm Lyme's.

MDL labs is what found my bartonella and Dr M (the bart guy) was content with that result. A few LLMD's ive seen have been very content with the Stoneybrook lyme test as well as MDL's C-6 peptide.

FWIW i also had a Ceres Nanotrap test done but Dr M is the only one who suggested it. I'd never even heard of it before that

It doesn’t require a doctor’s signature. I ordered it on my own through their website. I agree with Armin labs. I actually believe they’re the best. They’re extremely helpful too.

So that has changed? You no longer need a Dr. to sign the lab req?
I know you can order the test kit...but a sig was always needed.

Just wanted to confirm....Igenex DOES require a Dr. signature.

Their statement when I emailed to confirm.


"Yes in order to process your sample we do require a doctor's signature on our paperwork. "
