Since Saturday I’ve had some random bouts of intense itching, I’ve started gou teng which is new for me, could this be causing the itching or is it more likely one of the infections?

Try moisturizing your skin. Now that it's getting into October everything is drying up, it always makes me itch like crazy. Hopefully it's something simple like that. Especially if you've been taking a lot of showers or baths.

Will try that Noah, I’m hoping it’s as simple as that, I take a fair few Epsom salt baths and use the sauna so I guess it could be drying

last summer i had intense itching all over when starting new meds...it was so annoying!!! it went away with time.. so im gonna assume its a herx

I had this happen when I first started Valtrex. Horrible itching that drove me crazy. It finally went away about a month later. Grandpa's Pine Tar soap helped a bit and anti itch moisturizer.

Sounds like parasite to me but what do I know. Have you treated parasite?

Szabo,

I would stop the Gou-teng until the itching stops. Then carefully add it back to see if it's a reaction to the Gou-teng. You can have reactions to anything.

You aren't by chance taking lomatium or andrographis are you? Those two are known to cause hives/itching.

Treat candida and the itching will probably go away try garlic, lauricidin, acv

Thank you all, I will order the pine tar soap, can’t do any harm I suppose, WBF, yes I will stop the gou teng, I am taking andrographis, I used to take capsules but recently switched to a tincture only on about 10 -15 drops a day at the moment could it still have that effect?

Magoo- no I haven’t treated for parasite. What would I take for this?

Itching, crawling, biting sensations can be symptoms of Lyme and co-infections.

Did you have any of these symptoms before starting the Gou teng(Uncaria rhynchophylla)?

Herxing can also bring out new or more intense symptoms.

Uncaria rhynchophylla is a Antibacterial,Anticonvulsant (anti-epileptic,anti seizure), nit-inflammatory, anti viral, Hypotensive, Neurological protectant, Sedative, Smooth muscle relaxant, systemic tonic.
Note: The primary actions of this specis is as ahypotensive(high blood pressure), anti-inflammatory(Neurological), neurological protectant(anti-epileptic/anti seizure).

No I didn’t have them before jo, thanks for the info re gou teng, I already have low blood pressure maybe I should keep this herb for emergencies only!
