Does anyone struggle with a chronic sore throat? I get mine at night always. It seems to be only in the winter, and I've somewhat correlated with very low carb/low calorie consumption (not sure which). I've tested positive for the streptococcus bacteria but I don't have any other traditional strep throat symptoms and I'm not sure why it only occurs under these specific circumstances (winter, diet, night time). It did start when my body went crazy years ago, during the time I think my Lyme came to the surface, so I'm pretty sure it's linked to Lyme and not just me diagnosing myself.

Hello, having a score throat was my very first symptom after my bite/rash which was in October. Since then almost every morning I wake up with a score throat. I have not tested positive for Lyme yet since its still so early on, have you tested positive for Lyme and if so how long has it been?

Does the heat in your house come through a duct? Could be mold coming through your vent.
Symptoms only at night and in the winter sounds like mold in the ducts to me.

That is a good point walkingbyfaith, I know the best comes from ducts in my house. I am going to keep you updated on what my LLMD says about
the multiple chemical sensatiity this week as well.

I have had Lyme for many years.
I do not believe we have mold but interesting theory. We don't keep the heat on at night though, and during the day it seems to be fine.

I had recurring mild sore throats from Bartonella, something to consider.

Yeah I might have bartonella, I've suspected that. I don't seem to have babesia but that one's possible.

I also had recurring sore throats with lyme/bartonella though that went away once I started treatment.

is it possible reflux related? i have had throat problems through out this journey. for a while i thought it was the infections causing the problems, however i think now it maybe related yeast problems that may be causing the soreness or reflux irritating the throat. if it comes at night or when you lay down then get up in the morning, it maybe a indicator of reflux

No not reflux I don't think. I don't have any food come back up.

Reflux doesn't always present with food coming back up.
It can be a sensation of a lump in the throat...or a sore throat....or a bitter taste in the mouth...

Right, LPR presents with sore throat, or lump feeling in throat. Usually happens at night, or noticed in the morning.

Oh well I guess I can ask about
that then. LPR = acid reflux? I have low stomach acid but I know it can occur under that condition too. No bitter taste in mouth, just the sore throat feeling at night.

yes, LPR is a type of reflux. doctors will prescribe PPIs for it, which dont work right. they will also probably want to do a scope to see down there.
you can do a simple test, try sleeping with the headboard of your bed elevated like 8 inches for a few days and see if it improves. or sleep sitting up in a recliner if you can, thats what i did when it was at its worst for me. sleep in a recliner for like a week, when the sore throat resolved i knew it was LPR.

I do nap during the day but my head is elevated by a pillow and I don't seem to have the problem.

some say the pillow elevation isn't enough, that the bed elevation is needed...if you search on LPR treatments.
i noticed the biggest relief sleeping in a recliner. after that i elevated the headboard with 2 x 4's, and been sleeping like that ever since. probably since march.
its something to try to see if it helps. all the other things the docs told me to do, made no difference like PPIs, or omitting trigger foods.
