Viktor Frankl's Man's Search For Meaning
I've read that book and while pretty bleak, one of the take-aways I got from it was to always groom oneself and keep up proper hygiene as it lifts the spirit from absolute hopelessness to being ready for each day with a clean face, freshly shaved, etc. It is these little triumphs (hygiene, cleanliness) that lift one's spirit to survive even in some of the harshest situations you could imagine yourself in. Nothing biblical though, that's all I got...
I just showered and shaved to go to the store, and then to get some work done online.
Yeah, I know most people don't need to be reminded to shower, bathe and clean their bedsheets, and room, apt, house, etc... but when this maintenance and upkeep is done it means someone hasn't lost hope.
