I'm guessing that many skin disorders can be related to lyme disease. I wanted to test for something called Acrodermatitis. Maybe it's more common on the legs, but my hands are red/blue from time to time and the skin on my hands is paper thin. I know that Acrodermatitis is related to lyme and a friend of mine won her lawsuit based on this rash/disease. She never had a positive lyme or antibody test. That's why i wanted to do a biopsy for it.

Apparrently I tested negative for this rash (ACA), but they found that i had thinner layers of callosities/callosity
than normal. Something called hypokeratosis. By googling I only find hyperkeratosis, no idea if it's the same.

I'm trying to find out if this has any relation to lyme or other tickborne diseases.

Question: has anyone heard of it and know that this can be related to lyme disease? Any links that explains it's relation would be great.

I think bartonella also causes a lot of skin manifestations. Dana Parish and Dr Phillips did a video interview on the subject a while back (I'm not sure if they talked about the specific ones you mention though): https://www.facebook.com/lymebook/videos/973421599526409/

Do those points you make have anything to do with the content of the video itself? I understand not liking or trusting certain people, but it's better to critique the information presented than the person presenting. Tu quoque. Such is my opinion.

RJD76 what test did you order to test for ACA? early on i had signs of it, but it resolved with treatment. i assumed i had it, and its one of the typical skin manifestations of lyme or bartonella.

yes lots of charlatans in this game, aligning around some of the docs that have support from organizations like Bay Area Lyme, Tulane, Duke, Galaxy Diagnostics, etc. is probably a pretty sound move in this game. looking at the research they are conducting its easy to filter out the noise with people peddling cures with MSM or say Vitamin C and Salt, or wifi/EMF

sorry for late reply. I took a biopsi from my upper hand since it was kind og red and blueish from time to time. Not sure if ACA only can be found on your legs?? But it came back positive for hypokeratosis. Just trying to find out if it can be linked to lyme or perhaps hashimoto's..

I have what I also believe is ACA. Based on all I have read over years, after a certain amount of time, and I can't remember how long, the ACA may not show up in skin biopsy.

It has caused loss of subcutaneous fat in most parts of my body. Very frustrating. It slowly develops and can take years to get to atrophic stage.
