Disturbances in right upper abdomen - Metronidazole???

it's been a couple of months since I have been having some disturbances (not really pain) in the upper right abdomen. It is not continuous but all of a sudden I feel this uncomfortable ache that lasts for a few seconds and disappears until it returns after some minutes. It is not perfectly located, because now I feel it deep in my guts, but then I feel it like in my back. I went to the doctor and did some labs that came back normal: liver parameters are ok, kidney parameters ok, everything seems fine. Even I got an ecography which was also fine. But the discomfort is still there, sometimes is worse, sometimes milder.
I tried to relate this with the number of herbs supplements I am taking but I can not correlate it based on the time it started. The only possible correlation is with a combo of abx I took around the days this all started 2 months ago: I was taking minocycline and I pulsed metronidazole (3 days @ 750 mg per day in 3 intakes), 4 days break, and then 4 more days @ 1000mg per day in 3 intakes. After that I stopped abx and I have been without up to now (doing quite well...).

Do you think metronidazole could be the culprit? It is hard to believe it, but it coincides from the timeline point of view.

Gall bladder comes to mind for me when I read your description. The on again off again nature of your symptoms would fit that. Just a guess.

I actually have an ultrasound scheduled this Friday for a similar right side pain that comes and goes. It's never terrible but it does hurt. Sometimes worse than others, sometimes not at all. Doc said if anything shows up Friday then he will order a function test, I believe it's called a hida scan. My daughter is having her gall bladder out in February and my wife and mother both had theirs out a few years ago. I don't have the discomfort that they experienced so I don't think mine is bad. Maybe just stirred up because of all of the abx if it is that at all.
