Brucellosis- Has anyone else had it? (brucella)

I have been diagnosed with and treated for brucellosis recently. Some of my symptoms are coming back and I fear the treatment didn't fully eliminate it. It is known to become chronic. I've started to struggle to stand and walk once again and lose my balance, amongst other symptoms like every single joint in my body pain.

It's so rare, I would just love to hear the stories of anyone who has had it.

There are 3 different threads on the topic, but all several years old - so I'd love to here from those folks from years ago on the forum, or new folks.

I'll be so grateful if I get any replies, any people's stories.

Gulf War veterans who meet certain criteria can be eligible for VA disability if they get brucella.

Hi Miacka. I am still not sure if I really have/had it. I never had success with antibiotics and stopped seeing LLMD over a year ago.

What antibiotics did you use the first time? How did you contract it?

I was diagnosed with it by muscle testing. My naturopath never tested me because the tests aren't good a lot of the time.

I never really found out if I have it or not, but I did read somewhere that lomatium is supposed to help it, and taking lomatium did help me. The author James Herriot describes his experience with brucella in one of his books (I think it was "The Lord God Made them All"), and the symptoms certainly did sound like mine, but that's really all I know.
