Impressed with my Doctor!

This is my regular GP I'm talking about.

She called me several days ago and said she had a patient who may have lyme - and could she give her my number so I could help her find a Dr. to treat her....etc.

I said sure.

That lady called me and told me her story. She had some symptoms for several years...but then a few years ago, things got very bad. The Dr. she was seeing (in the same clinic as my Dr.) told her it was in her head.
Then she switched to my Dr. who then proceeded to test her for everything - autoimmune...etc. and sent her blood to the Canadian lab which came back positive (Elisa - screening). They proceeded to the WB, but it was negative.

This lady told her that she feels like there is inflammation in her body...and feels like she is worsening to the point where she doesn't feel like she'll be alive much longer. (Some severe symptoms) so my dr. ran some more tests...only thing that came up was positive ANA. She then gave her some medication for her suspected sinus infection (antibiotic) and it cleared up....but then came back. She went back on it, and it cleared again...but after stopping...it came back again. My Dr. then suspected she might have a chronic infection since her body isn't able to keep the sinus infection at bay...she feels something is suppressing her immune system... That's when they discussed lyme...and she got the positive Elisa but negative WB. My Dr. said that there were better tests outside of Canada...and that's when she called me asking for permission to pass on my phone number.


Bless her heart! She's a gem.

Sandyfeet - I feel so very fortunate to have found my Dr. a few months prior to my symptoms starting.

I have spoken to this lady twice now and have told her what her options are in our Province with LLND’s.... and how to get tested...etc.
She sounds relieved that she’s met someone else with LD.

Yes there is! I haven’t gid yet but I should probably start!

There isn’t one in my city - but where my son lives (3 1/2 hour drive) there’s a fairly large support group. I may go sometime.

LB - one of the qualities I like about her is she never denied my lyme diagnosis - she admitted she didn’t know enough about it.

That’s incredible Girlie! That’s basically unheard of! You are extremely lucky to have her as your Dr. God bless her is right!
