Hi Girlie,

I take oral liposomal ceftriaxone, amoxicillin, Clarithromycin and atovaquone. In addition to this I take low dose naltrexone, low dose nortriptyline, stevia, biofilm phase 2, grape seed extract and a litany of supplements. Off the top of my head I am not sure what the closest oral to Ceftriaxone would be but have heard good things about IM Bicillin. I am not trying to discourage anyone from going the IV route but thought some members might like to know about liposomal Ceftriaxone in oral form.

Oh you’re taking Ceftriaxone in oral form?
That’s why I’m confused - I thought it was only available in IV

Can’t find any info on it

Yes I have been taking it for approximately 10 months now. It's available through Hopkington pharmacy in Massachusetts. It really has knocked back the vast majority of my neuro symptoms.

Hopkington Pharmacy in MA is very Lyme friendly. They work closely with several top rated LLMD in the northeast (Dr H in NY, Dr P in CT, etc) to develop and promote unique lyme treatment products. I purchase their Liposonal Oil of Oregano and LDM products. Their sales rep visits with area LLMDs regularly to communicate new treatment protocols and their offerings.

It’s a push, or at least it was for me. 5-10 minutes to get it in. Quite quick! Unlike my IV doxy which was a four hour infusion! Lol!

I buyed my vials yesterday, gonna get 2 grams in two 1 Gram separated infusions slowly.

I am terrified since i read some reports of iv ceftriaxone causing deaths affecting the heart extreme bradicardia. I know i should not ask Google for this, but i am cautious with everything now. I am taking a benzo on top of this wish already lows my blood pressure. But i am taking oral ceftin for 3 weeks now and tolerating very well, except i had tachychardia two or 3 Times but its over, i think.

I need some advise and reassurance. How is ceftriaxone mixed with your infusions? I am getting a slow infusion. Anyone got it this way?

my first one i was terrified i had sjs from bactrim and needed it to work. you will be fine. andrographis was a rougher herx. roceph and iv curcumin actually helped my heart inflammation lots

I have to do this, my neurologic symptoms persist even after 3 weeks of ceftin, but it seems ceftin has poor penetratation to csf, i hope roceph not do it seems. I am at the end of the rope. Tried zithromax and tindamax and all it did was flares because i always had rashes all over the body

Rocephin I believe is generally tolerated well and many feel benefits quickly. I had powder and saline and lidocaine I would mix the three and do a butt injection. But once I got my picc line I would do premixed pushes. Again, it was like a 5-10 minute ordeal, it was one of my quicker infusions. A few minutes and done. If they are having you do it slow it will likely be in an elastomeric pump which is a ball thing. Will you not be monitored for your first dose? Every time I’d start a new iv drug I’d have an anaphylaxis kit on hand and be monitored and measured (blood pressure and temp) throughout the infusion and for an hour afterwards. I’d definitely recommend getting the first dose in office or with a home care nurse.

Aurora2013, That's fascinating about oral liposomal Ceftriaxone! What benefits have you had with it? Is it expensive? I have need bedridden with Lyme, babesia and Bart 8 yearssad This past year I did 1 year of live bee venom therapy 1,400 total stings, unfortunately didn't get anywhere with bvt. Your doctor sounds good! I would love a email of your protocol only if your willing to share. Healing hugs to all💚💚

Sorry that you've suffered severely for so long with this.

Darn - the BVT didn't work for you! I know we have a few members here that are finding it to be working.


Do you currently have a LLMD? and is he one of the more experienced ones?
I've recently switched to Dr. J in DC. Send me an email if you'd like more information, and my experience there.

The liposomal ceftriaxone has helped to reduce my neuro symptoms but I also take amoxicillin, atovaquone, Clarithromycin and low dose naltrexone. It is expensive as my insurance will not cover it due to it being "experimental". So with shipping it amounts to about 180.00 per month. My symptoms are mostly neuro in nature. I have numbness, tingling, and burning on various parts of my body as well as severe headaches and brain fog. My doctor is wonderful and open to exploring new possibilities so I could not ask for anything more really. I am so sorry you have been suffering for so long and that the BVT did not help. What are your symptoms and what is your protocol?

I was on intramuscular ceftriaxone injections, the slow release kind, and finished after several rounds (I forget how many) about three years ago. That was after almost ten years fighting Lyme disease. Every time I was put on a new abx regimen, it would work for a while, then stop. When I went off it, I would crash, between 2 weeks and 2 months after stopping.
With the injections, which my wife administered for me, the improvement was quite dramatic, but after a few rounds, the improvement, while significant, stopped. However, I have remained much improved, although not nearly well, for about three years, and have not crashed.
My reason for injections, rather than a pic line or IV, was because of where I live. I did not have access to either without it being too expensive. With the good training of my doctor, my wife was able to do a great job with the injections.

Hi isitlyme, My husband had a Picc line put in and iv ceftriaxone for 28 days. This was after receiving Doxi oral for 2 weeks. He had the Picc line put in and before we left the hospital, the first 5 days of Iv Antibox was delivered to us at the hospital. The next day a home nurse showed up to do the infusion, and teach us how to do it, it really wasn't that hard. Before she left she gave us a number to call and request someone to talk to if we felt we needed it. The service then showed up once a week on Monday to change his dressing and see how we were doing. Hope this helps.
