Adding in Diflucan

Hi everyone. I just got back from seeing my LLMD. I’m on month five of antibiotics treatment. A little background, I had Lyme for three or four months before getting diagnosed. I had lots of symptoms many of which were neuro. I’m doing better but still have some symptoms that are lingering so my doctor recommended I add in Diflucan. Does this seem like a good plan to you guys? I believe I’m doing 100mg once a day on Saturdays and Sundays. This will go along with the Flagyl twice a day on Saturdays and Sundays as well as the Mino every day and Zmax every day. I’m on LDN as well. I’m still very worn out so she’s testing my Thyroid. I’m also been experiencing very heavy mensural cycles due to what we believe are fibroid rumors. I’m going back to my OBGYN on March 29th to discuss which procedure to have done to help stop the heavy bleeding. I’ve also gained about 10lbs within the last few months so she’s doing some testing on that. So I guess back to my main point does adding in the Diflucan seem like a good plan?

Yes - Diflucan is important if you're on long-term antibiotics.

I take it twice a month. I take 200 mg twice a day on those two days.

ok thank you Girlie! With the short description I posted above how long would you say I should be treated? At first she thought about six months but now I think she’s thinking it will be longer. I’m running out of money but want to kick this thing. Do you think nine months is a decent amount of time?

Yes. It's an antifungal if my Lyme brain is recalling correctly. There is another name for it (fluconazole? Nystatin?)

Anyway, antibiotics go after all types of bacteria, even good bacteria. So puts body at risk for yeast infections, candyda(?), uti.

all I can say is I was on it the majority of time u was in and treatment to help protect body from opportunistic stuff.

Thanks Roxie! One thing I’ve noticed lately is I feel a little dizzy when I pee. Is this an issue?? Possible UTIs maybe?

You have to trust your body and your LLMD while taking and IMO. My protocol at the time from my LLMD was a couple of and, nystatin and sorry can't recall the other one. Bad symps currently so brain/body function low right now. Hope you see improvement.

My llmd has me on diflucan for the entire time I’m on abx.

(2 days per month)

Hey guys can I take the Diflucan and Flagyl at the same time? My LLMD has a strong accent and is sometimes difficult to understand but I think she said take them both on all Saturdays and Sundays. Also did anyone get any side effects from the Diflucan? I see it can cause dizziness.

Flagyl and diflucan are scheduled for the same two days as well - Th/Fri of one week a month

Diflucan is used to treat fungal infections like candida, it can also treat mold in the body.

I have done courses of it twice in my life and am currently on it. It’s easy on my system and felt some long lost clarity. Combined with flagyl and no problems here.

Most people are dosed 100-200 mg for a few weeks. I have taken up to 400 mg per day and seen people go as high as 800 mg.

So I took two doses of the Diflucan on Saturday and Sunday and felt decent but today I’m having horrible pain in my arm, hand and shoulder. Is this a herx from the Diflucan that I took a few days ago? I’m pretty upset since I haven’t had pain this bad since I started treatment almost six months ago. The only other knee thing I have done is started taking Transfer Factor Multi Immune on an empty stomach. I’ve also stopped Super Milk Thistle recently because of its effect on estrogen. There’s also a full moon tonight which some say makes Lyme flare. I wish I knew what was going on.
