Starting Rocephin tomorrow

Hi All,

After countless rounds or oral abs, herbs, supplements, etc. I'm finally starting IV abs. Insurance approved it at last! I'm really hoping this will help. Right now I'm scheduled for 30 days but am working to get 60 as I know 30 isn't enough. I've been at this for six years this month and am so fed up. I've had major loses during this time and I would like to get to a place where I'm not living in constant fear. I've had so many horrible weird symptoms, too many.

If anyone has any advice for me I greatly appreciate it. I know this isn't a silver bullet but it's one I haven't tried yet. So please encouragement if you can.

Will you be taking orals along side the IV abx?

KitKate, now we are two, i am starting it tomorrow. For now tried ceftin i am Itchy all over but also know Borrelia or Bart makes you Itchy.
Do you have neurolyme? What are your infections?

I'm not planning on orals . I do have ceftin, flagyl and azithro handy if I need it. Do you think I need to add them Girlie?

I have neurolyme. I have lyme and BLO, probably Ehrlicia, Coxsackie, EBV. My worst symptoms have been neuro.

Ceftin and Azithro did nothing for me. I had some major herxing on mino but switched LLMD's and the new one wanted me to try Ceftin and Azithro. Feel like they've been useless.

I would recommend starting with the IV rocephin and mino or zith. Then add something for Babs or Bart, because you won't beat out Lyme until you have addressed co-'s first. You should also add in a cyst buster like TindaMax or Flaygl. Some say Plaquinel is also a mild cyst buster. Mono-abx therapy is seldom enough to fully treat Lyme.

Also don't forget Actigall for your gall bladder. DryPro makes a pretty good waterproof Picc line protector so you can shower more freely (approx. $29 ??) Buy a smaller size since it can be cut down to increase opening if needed for perfect fit.

Yes, actigall requires a script. Rocephin is hard on the gall bladder and this helps it. Generic name is Ursodiol. When you get your Picc line in ask them for an Rx, or have your LLMD call it in.

My doc is combining ceftin with ceftriaxone 8 days alternate, its a trial for now.

Ursodiol can be with lots of side effects too, isnt there a alternative to ursodiol or similar? Ursodiol has risks too.

30 days was not enough for me.

My gallbladder was gurgling and squalking a year later but has calmed down lately.
