Appt went well!

Dr J is awesome.

We were discussing my nerve pain (left side upper back... etc) I asked him if he thought it would ever get better - or is it damage and I’m stuck with it.
He said he’s confident it will get better - but it could take a couple years.
He then pressed around in the area and found the “spot” around the left shoulder blade - it actually hurt when he pressed it.
He also found an area on the left side at the base of my neck.
He said it’s most likely lower cervical/upper thoracic nerves causing it.
He asked if I wanted a prescription for a topical pain cream that has to be compounded for that area.
So I will take it to a compounding pharmacist in my city when I get home.

Well worth it even if it is three planes to get here!

And sitting in Dr J’s office a lady looked at me and said “Are you from Canada?” She overheard me talking to the NP/PA.
And I said “Yes - Are you?” She said she was and then said “Are you Girlie?”

Lol

My husband looked at me in surprise.

I would have said in person how amazing you are in this forum - knowledgeable, supportive, funny, intelligent. You are a treasure!

[And my appointment with Dr. J went very well, too ... he asks so many great questions, listens well, then explains very well where one is at in the process - and then cheers you on! ]

If you're heading out tonight Goldie, I may yet see you again at the airport. (As an aside, I've always loved the look of the Parkway coming in from Regan Airport, so this morning I WALKED the 5.6 miles into my Washington appointment along the Mt. Vernon Trail. And, now, I am barely able to walk - grin! I took a cab back out to the airport!!!]

We’re staying two more nights here but I think next time (which will be in a year) we will just stay two nights.

I’m still lost here - I’ve never had a good sense of direction - I need a map. This is our third time here and we’re just a block and a half away from the clinic - but I almost turned down a wrong road... good thing hubby was with me!

We’re not sure what we’ll do tomorrow - last time (August) we did some of the Smithsonian museums - not sure I want to do them again.

Anyone have ideas for entertainment tomorrow??

In the fall, I went to the Holocaust Museum....which was very sad but very well done. There is a part, just at the end, where they show video of actual survivors telling their stories which is so incredibly moving (as is the whole museum); be sure to leave time to sit and watch them all. It is well worth a morning visit.

Looks like you can take a train for around $20. Billed as one of the best aquariums in the world. I really liked it but I'm into that sort of thing.

Bahaha! So awesome. Glad you both had good appointments. Maybe I should try to see him once. I'm surprised you're on maintenance when you're still herxing. Did he explain why?

The Baltimore aquarium is really nice, but it's pretty far. Which museums did you go to?
